2009: Carolina Cobra, a "Boomerang steel coaster" featuring new trains from Vekoma, will occupy the former spot of the Nickelodeon Flying Super Saturator. Carowinds is rebuilding more sections of Thunder Road. Last year the majority of the work on Thunder Road was spent rebuilding the two large turn-arounds at back end of the ride and a little bit of the return track half way back. Now they have completely removed the old track in between last year’s rebuilt sections. Nighthawk will be repainted with yellow tracks and navy blue supports. Carowinds has replaced some track at the Hurler. SCarowinds will have its tenth year of screams. Wild Thornberrys log flume removed to make room for a new attraction in 2010, rumored to be a Hyper Coaster. Dora the Explorer Azul's Adventure's track is also modified for the new addition. Cedar Fair is rumored to not renew it's contract with Viacom. This means it will be the last year any character apart of Nickelodeon will be seen in the park. Action Theatre will be getting a new movie to replace the current Spongebob 3D film (or might close entirely).

Back on subject I noticed that the area that will clearly be water looks to be about the same size of the water splash area for Diamondback at Kings Island. Maybe I am just to hopeful.

agh...I will be at camp all this week, and I just know that they will get the track and everything assembled and running while I'm gone... :]

As to the last post, the area looks a bit smaller than Diamond Backs splashdown, but I could be wrong.

I would've thought that there would have been a splashdown for your coaster... BUT I also would've thought it would have been poured already. It is the biggest pour they will do, along with digging out the dirt, shaping it, etc. While I still think you'll get one, I think it's starting to get less and less likely.

We have two PTC's and an International Coasters, Inc. Woodie. It wouldn't be a bad thing to get another one from GCI, Gravity Group, or Intamin. Besides, there are other CF parks with four.

I was at the park earlier today, and about 4, very close together footers have been poured left of the station area near the service road and seem to be the turn into the station. No pictures...

Yesterday, I noticed more "pink flowers" to the right of the "station" in the area where the old log flume station was... interesting...

Also, has anyone noticed the new "numbers" near the South Gate.. There's actually a 'pattern' there now.. looks like something similar to Diamondbacks turnaround for sure..
