General Carowinds discussion

A lot of the supports have and are being painted black at the moment and the track has started to get painted. Also, the rails and crossties of the track are being painted jet black, like when they were testing the colors, but the spine still has primer on it. I guess we will have to wait and see what color they chose for the spine. Wright Brothers theme? I think not. B)

Oh yes - because my passion in life is to make up things and post them here. I can drive, therefor I can pass by the park and see if anything is being painted. I don't have a working digital camera right now, so I was not able to take pictures. Find someone to drive you there, and then you can see it for yourself.

With track that has been painted, the spines on them have not been painted yet, and only have primer on them for now. I am sure they will be painted one of the three green colors we saw earlier.

This is cool news ghettopastries. Thanks for the update dude!

This is interesting, with everything being black with the exception of the spine. So the most likely decision will include a shade of green on the spine, but what does this mean for the theme? I think it's maybe starting to look more like Star Trek, and not Tomb Raider, as this is really the color scheme of Star Trek. I think Tomb Raider would have brown worked into the colors. This is sad, as I was hoping for Tomb Raider, but I believe this really narrows down the choices.

Black for Star Trek? I always thought the main color was green.

I just think that works better for Star Trek than Tomb Raider, or any other of the themes that have been discussed.

Like I said before, sometimes the color of a coaster has nothing to do with the name of it. I mean look at this particular coaster itself. It was White, Red and Grey. I've never seen a Stealth Aircraft that color. In fact the black paint that is being put on it now would better fit the name Stealth. I don't think that it will be called Stealth, just stating that color sometimes means nothing to the name.

I like the name Stealth.

LocoDriver, some of what you say is correct. Rides with original names such as Stealth, Vortex, Ricochet - Those could be any color. When you name a ride after a movie, or a character, such as Superman, Batman, Top Gun, etc, the colors coordinate with the name of the ride and the theme. Plus, it was already mentioned from the park that the ride will not be re-named Stealth.

I also know that it will not be named Stealth. Just simply saying that we can not assume anything by what color the coaster is. When I think of StarTrek or TombRaider, no certain color comes to mind. I mean logically speaking Black could go with anything. You could paint the spine Pink and people would think it was the Pink Panther.

I do think it will be named after a movie though. I think that is unfortunate too unless they really do some nice theming to it. I mean Star Trek with no theming to it is a lame name. Look at TopGun for instance. I think they should have made the station to resemble an Aircraft Carrier. I think that would have been a lot nicer than what they have. Don't get me wrong, I love the ride. I just think they could have done a lot more with it.
