The monorail never made any hotel stops. There were plans to build a hotel by the parks original owner and have a monorail but this is the first hotel the park will have.

Very true. The monorail station was at the Vortex station. It went around the interior lake in the park and then crossed the parking lot before veering toward the interstate. That is where the hotel was envisioned but never built. It then did a 180 and went through some "woods" before coming down the entrance drive and across the lake (approximately where the parking lot is in front of Fury) then back into the park and around the sky-tower. A one-station loop.

Any idea about the purpose of those randomly sunk windows along the side of the hotel? I'd guess balconies, but it looks like they only have windows, not doors.

Probably for aesthetics.... just to make it visually appealing. Building a "box" with windows would be fairly unattractive.
