It's not even 2016 but announcements are already coming out! Lets start thing thing with universal announcing their new water park, Volcano Bay!


Universal Orlando has sent us a press release announcing a huge addition to the Universal Orlando Resort, Volcano Bay, a new water park opening on property in 2017!

Universal Orlando Resort today announced a project of remarkable vision: to bring to life an entirely new water theme park experience. Called Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort, it will join Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure and become the resort’s third incredibly immersive park.

Universal’s Volcano Bay will be a place for the entire family. It will be a whole new generation of experience that reimagines what it means to be a water park.

Imagine a place that offers radically innovative, thrilling attractions, peaceful moments of relaxation and an inspired guest experience that will forever change the perception of water theme parks. It will be set in a highly themed, completely immersive environment inspired by postcard-perfect tropical islands. And it will be the kind of special place that only the Universal team – the same team that has changed the face of Universal Orlando Resort in recent years - can envision and create.

Universal’s Volcano Bay will be located within Universal Orlando Resort, just south of the Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Work is already underway and more details will be released in the future.

Universal’s Volcano Bay is the next in a series of boldly creative experiences that have opened and will continue to open at Universal Orlando. It began with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade in 2010 and quickly moved to Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Springfield, hometown to America’s favorite animated family, The Simpsons, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, eight new venues at Universal CityWalk, the breathtaking Cabana Bay Beach Resort and more. It will include Skull Island: Reign of Kong and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort in 2016.

And then – in 2017 – will come Universal’s Volcano Bay.

Addition??? This is an entire new park on the resort! I hear, at night the volcano will errupt and the water will be LED lit to simulate lava!

I was surprised about this being announced because it leaked months ago. It seemed a done deal then. So much so, that I forgot that they hadn't officially announced it yet.

Plans - (7/15/15) According to a trusted source, a wood coaster was in the works for 2017... but not from Intamin. The problem is, our source also confirmed that whatever Alton Tower had in the works for 2017 has likely been put on hold at this point... and may never come to be as they deal with the fallout from The Smiler accident. We'll just have to wait and see.

This ride is going to fuse everything you love about the films with an original storyline and incredible ride technology. You’ll get to check out some of the high-speed, supercharged cars you’ve seen on the big screen. You’ll be immersed in the underground racing world made famous in the films and explore the headquarters of Toretto and his team. Then, you’ll board specially-designed vehicles for an adrenaline-pumping ride with your favorite stars from the films.

To make way for Fast & Furious: Supercharged, Disaster: A Major Motion Picture Starring You! will close permanently on September 8, 2015, with Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue closing later this year.

Well Universal Studios have announced the new attraction that will replace Twister in 2017. Twister will be closing for good on 11/02/2015. Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon is the name of the new attraction.

2017 - New Coaster - (12/21/15) Is Valleyfair ready to open a new coaster? The local fans sure think so, as the last BIG coaster to open at the park was Renegade way back in 2007. According to one rumor, the park may be planning on adding their next major new coaster for the 2017 season. A pitty they weren't ready to do it in 2016 however, as it would have made a great extra to help the park celebrate it's 40th Anniversary.

Oh, how I love being southern and spoiled. They can have Nighthawk though if they're up for relocations.
