Like I said last time, this thread wouldn't be hurting if it had a few more contributors other than Doug and myself. I may not go to the park for the rest of the month. It's 2014, I know you people have cameras! Or maybe you're just waiting for the go-kart track to be demolished...
I didn't ride Intimidator yesterday so no pictures or anecdotes about the seatbelts. It was quite a long line all day.
I'm going to do opposite of last time and start with the waterslide stuff, then the various food projects, and finally the go-kart area last.
As usual, high-res pictures linked under.

Other than the Skytower the best place for a vantage point on the new slides is Thunder Road Grey's station and the putt putt course. Of course you don't necessarily have to play putt putt...
LINK.
Since the South Gate was open I figured it wouldn't be too sketchy if I drove over to the holding area for the waterslide parts.

Let's go over to the freshly opened Chick-Fil-A.
LINK.
Closed on Sundays, brilliant move Cedar Fair, just brilliant.
LINK.
Here's a look at the menu-
LINK.
Oooooh, Milkshakes. Going to have to try one of these next time.
LINK.
Here was the line at 1:30. Closed on Sundays. Kudos to you Cedar Fair. Maybe at the very least the building will be open, it just won't serve food. That wouldn't be as bad.
LINK.
Harmony Hall progressing very quickly. I can't wait for it to open to see how it looks inside or what kind of food they'll serve.
LINK.

As intaminboy posted above, Chickie and Pete's is almost done, and from what I can see, it looks pretty good.
LINK.
A nice patio section...
LINK.
Unfortunately the shark and scale have disappeared.
LINK.
LINK.
I was also able to get a peek inside-
LINK.
Also a look at the menu and prices. Not surprising the cheapest thing is $8.59. And that doesn't even include your 4 dollar drink.
LINK.
A Dippin Dots Sundae Shop is opening soon in the Carolina RFD section by the arcade.
LINK.
The new North Gate funnel-cake stand looks close to opening.
LINK.
People (including myself) have been critical of it taking so long to open for such a small thing, but it would appear they transformed it from a walk-up into a walk-through, so I'll give 'em a pass. I imagine with a name like "Emporium" you will be able to get all sorts of various toppings. It's like Subway for Funnel Cakes.
LINK.
With such a sunny day I wanted to get some pictures of Afterburn's new paint job, it it looks great.. except for.. ?
LINK.
Where the spine meets the rails is still a rust color. It sticks out pretty bad since the rest of the coaster looks so good.
Also something I didn't see on opening day since it was so cloudy, the Skycoaster looks like crap. You would think if they were completely dismantling it and moving it to the front of the park they could sand it down and slap some paint on there. But nope more rust.
LINK.
I was told that this wasn't a show about singing-dinosaurs. Seriously Cedar Fair, can't pony up the cash for another 2 feet of banner?
LINK.
Enough lolly-gaggery.
Not much has been done to the Go-Kart track.. or has it?
This lil guy is going to build the whole ride by himself.
LINK.
There are a mountain of tires that weren't there opening day, just waiting to be recycled (I hope).
LINK.
Here is the exact same view from opening day.
A look from the Skytower will show the tires are starting to be removed from the "back" of the Go-Karts near where Skycoaster used to be, as they move up slowly towards the front.
LINK.
Look closely and there is a stack of tires near Hurler with some white paint on the ground.
Here it is from ground level, it's impossible to tell what it says-
LINK.
Along the outside of the fence there are yellow paint spots.
LINK.
LINK.
Here is a overview of the area from inside the park -

LINK. [8308x2134]
Look in the lower left corner.. more paint!
LINK.
We went out for a walk outside the park and saw some paint covered up. This was in the middle of the road heading toward the parking booth. I don't even know if it's relevant.
LINK.
Finally.. the thing I've been waiting to show. Actual markings, up close. It's near the Palladium, but I didn't enter any restricted areas. It helps when it's a busy day for school groups.
LINK.
For comparison, here's a marking from when Intimidator was under construction.
Looks vaguely similar...
BH C33L
EL - 635.53
What does this mean? According to this (which is a UK website, not sure how much stock to put into it) says that BH means "Bore Hole" and EL means "Existing Level." Bore Hole is simply a hole that's drilled into the earth. Most definitions say it for the purpose of extracting water, but I'm not sure if that's the case here.
I can't find anything regarding "existing level" but it looks to be similar to elevation. 635 feet is about how far above sea level this point is. Or it could be something completely different.
I took 214 pictures yesterday, a lot more pictures of the stuff above, and I also went through Dinosaurs Alive for the first time. Exciting stuff there.
Give em a look here.
