General Carowinds discussion

I agree that Carowinds is on par with other places like that, but it's also more geared towards families, than a football game or concert. Amusement parks in general are also aimed at keeping you there for 7-10 hours. The most you'll stay at a concert or sports event is maybe 4 hours.

It's a lot tougher to pay 10-15 dollars a plate, multiple times, for a family of four or five (or more!) than a couple going somewhere minus the kids, cousins, and grandparents.

Maybe because they sell a ton of chicken sandwiches? Have you ever seen a Chick-Fil-A that didn't have a line wrapped around it's drive thru?

I personally love them and every thing they stand for!

Agree...
When I went to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for the BCS Championship Game this year, here were the in-game, face value costs (we had to pay more than face in most cases).

Ticket: $325 FACE VALUE (paid more)
Parking: $80 FACE VALUE, but sold out.
Burger: $9
Fries: $6
Soda: $5 or $7 depending on size
Beer: $15 per pint of draft
Bottle Water: $4 (seemed real reasonable at the time)
etc, etc, etc...

Well some brick will be better and help break up what ever color that siding is. I take it that the Block portion on the right will be the kitchen?

Has anyone seen anything going on with the kiddie train? I see on the map it is going to be quite small.

How much longer is the contract for Dinos? Surely this is not meant to be a permanent addition. I would be perfectly ok with it if they removed Dinos and made all of that kiddie land.

It's about time someone said that.

WHAT. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

WHY?

SIgh..... I guess I should count myself lucky to be one of the few who got to ride it no trim and the new track... It was really awesome...

My sentiments exactly, particularly the part I put in bold.

They do have the all day dining plan. It will be interesting to see what is included when all the food venues are up and running.

The old Cedar Fair was about thrill rides and not much else. The new Cedar Fair seems to be more about the whole experience so I'm holding off judgement and giving them a few more years to see how it pans out. I'm hoping we will see their parks focused on family entertainment and keep us there all day long.

I tried out Chickies yesterday. The fries are good but not worth $10 even for that large bucket full.

I saw pictures of the one at Cedar Point and seems theirs was like $4 cheaper. :wtf: Unless that was a smaller portion.

And Hurler is very smooth now, but because of the track work and those stupid trims.
