General Carowinds discussion
#56849
For those just joining, keep in mind that this project has been discussed endlessly for about a year now. I know I speak for many who are sick to death of speculating what they will build, and have moved on to the joy of watching them construct what they are actually building. With that in mind, and that the whole new parking/entrance road/toll booth/tunnel/coaster/blueprints/turnaround and whatever else you can think of are all jumbled together now, here are some real facts I think we can all agree on.

Image
Fact #1. They are doing construction.

Image
Fact #2. They are doing more construction.

Image
Fact #3. They are doing even more construction.

Image
Fact #4. They are doing still even more construction.

Image
Looky here now, surely this LOD must be a clue. I got it! They’re doing construction!

Image
What is this anyway, Fact #6? I lost count.

Image
Fact #7. As with the Intimidator fence, yes the glory holes are back.

Image
Fact #8. Looks like the tires are finally gone. Except for one.

So what have “we” all learned? If I were to speculate, and if I was a betting man, I think it would be a safe bet to go out on a limb and conclude they are doing construction. You girls can talk about colors all you want (or not!).

Thanks for the update!

I'm going to speculate from the tire that it is part of the theming for the new coaster. So it is going to be called Centurion's Lone Tire Fury 325.

But seriously...love the pics. I'm really happy to see the train running again. My kiddo will be happy!

Oh wow. It looks so different next to Hurler. Anywho all of those *facts* I posted earlier is just a cavalcade of everything that we've discussed thus far. Not necessarily true, but it is what we would like to see. I personally prefer the name Centurion, but Fury325 will also work. And you're right. Perhaps they are designing a new type of coaster train. Like when Top Thrill Dragster was built. I can't remember who said it on this thread, but someone mentioned that B&M doesn't use Intimidator style trains on Gigas. So I just used that instead of saying that we don't know at all. So at least we can have an idea of what to expect. Personally, I hope that they are designing a new train style. Four abreast for a giga is okay, but this is something different and very well deserving of a new design of train. What do you think?

Man they are working fast.

June 21 vs June 27 vs July 2, from the same vantage point. I wonder if they work weekends?

The trees and whatnot are gone and the land is completely flattened now. I'm just stunned at how much they've picked up the pace. At this rate we'll see footers by Friday.

(This is a joke, please no one start talking about a timetable for footers.)

I was at the park today. It really is amazing how much clearing they've done in that area since my last visit 7 days ago. There also seem to be more pink LOD markers around the entrance area. After checking them out again today I think it's safe to assume those coaster footer blueprints are right.

besides, I know for a fact that the trains will be Leviathan style, due to the fact that B&M doesn't run longer trains (Intimidator style) on their giga coasters due to the steep drops.

You know for a fact that B&M has not designed new trains? How? Do you work for B&M? Please stop spreading rumors. You are likely right but it is hardly a fact.

He's just quoting my facts.

You are correct in stating B&M will be designing new trains for this coaster, but they will look like the old 4-across style. When questioned about these use of the 4-across trains on Leviathan a B&M Rep said that the longer staggered trains create more negative g's on the steeper drops (in coaster speak longer trains mean ejector air and shorter trains mean floater air - at least on the giga coasters). Unless B&M has changed their minds, we're getting the 4-across "hyper" style trains on our giga.

Maybe skytower isnt really broken. Maybe they dont want us to have a good vantage point yet. Watch the day it is revelad, the skytower gets fixed :lolno: :lolno:. But seriously I noticed the webcam has been down for a while. Maybe it is being moved to or turned around towards thrill zone? Or maybe upgraded?
