For all we know Carowinds took that off a pile of 2x2 from Lowes. Oh wait, based on the color, grain and size of the wood that's what they did. That piece of wood is nearly if not brand new.

Google Maps says it's about 4 minutes and 6 miles longer, which could be good if downtown is a cluster-eff.. Apple Maps says Carowinds to Lexington is 1hr, 13 minutes via 77/85 and 1hr, 27 minutes via 77/485/85. It also says it adds 15 miles. This info seems fairly in line with my driving times. I ...

I suspect the footings are big enough in diameter that they wouldn't be affected. There again, Afterburn had footings replaced on the Batwing.
