Far as jealous I'm not jealous my home park has 4  plus I've ridden them all over this country, I have nothing to be jealous about. I'm glad your getting a new toy something I most likely will ride next time i'm out there for a family visit even though Top gun well still be my favorite in the park.

I'm also not calling B&M rides POS far as maintence nightmares or rough rides, I'm saying their layouts are POS b/c it's the same plug n play elements on every one of their coasters. They never try anything outside of the box and it's getting so boring with them, and for the price they charge their coasters should make you say WOW which they don't IMO.

There's a ride at Carowinds called Top Gun? :?

I was just on RCDB and our coaster falls in at number 7 of the tallest coasters in North America...pushing all the other B&M Hypers to number 8. If RCDB did a top twenty we would be (when 305 is counted as well) 13th tallest coaster in the world. We will be in the top ten for North America in terms of speed and in the top twenty in terms of speed in the world. We will be 10th for North America in terms of first drop. As well as in the top twenty in terms of first drop in the world. Just to put some perspective on the whole situation.

I have yet to see an element even similar to the S drop on intimidator or at least not a drop with that kind of approach on a hyper. I cant think of another hyper with a turn around like intimidator either. Ohh and I love that the MCBR is so late in the ride.

As for fanboy, go back to bashing your own coaster at KDfansite. I mean you are entitled to your opinion, but not when it so obvious that you are doing nothing but just blatantly trying to start a ruckus here. *in reality he is currently planning out his vacation to Charlotte next year to try out a real coaster

I'd say water splashes are pretty outside of the box, as well as stadiums style seating. If I do remember correctly, B&M invented the Immelmann(inverted dive loop) when they designed Montu. That's outside of the box if you ask me.

It isn't about you not having an opinion. I think your attitude sucks. My opinion. If you don't like B&M, fine. Don't ride. Sometimes you can say more by saying nothing at all.

Diamondback has longer first drop, faster speed, more drops, taller second drop, shorter third drop, but following drops are taller, more pph, hammer head, splashdown, more broing layout.

Intimidator is taller, taller second drop, sweet second drop, cool dive sprial, no splashdown (but, when does Nascar run is the rain).

But, Intimidator has a MUCH cooler layout, plus the themeing is cool. This is not a typical B&M hyper. Plus, the trains look really cool.

I'm glad you analyzed that for me. I'm too lazy. I agree with your points too. :)

Yep. When I read that, I thought I should defend Diamondback.

Well, B&M's cost so much because they are...well... perfect. They engineer them to perform flawlessly (sp?) and to work. Also, they are perfect (did I mention that already?). A lot of the cost comes from the manufacturing of the parts. Batavia Steel Factory manufactures the coasters to be perfect. Not one single error. If there's and error, guess what? They re-make that piece. It is peeeerrrrrrfect!

kdman76 wrote:Timmy looks great. Very impressed with the layout. Seems like some unique elements from B&M on this ride. And the rise to the break run, thought that was an Intamin thing? It don't have the B&M dip on the lift hill either.

First off, It doesn't have the B&M dip on the lift hill, either. Also, that was done to alleviate stress put on the chain. But, in some of the recent coasters (I know the hypers; not sure about others) they have done away with the 'dip' because they figured out a way to overcome that stress.

Now what makes yall think that Intaminfreak is a KDfanboy? He said his homepark has 4 B&M's. KD has one B&M. So lets pease stop saying this is a KD, Carowinds thing. I think both coasters are great in their own way for what they are. We should be happy for both parks and look forward to riding them both. Next up is Cedar Points annoucement.

I am thrilled. I almost floated up out of my chair at work watching the hill crests on the POV video
Seriously, what's not to like? I think most folks here can check off their wish lists for this coaster: height, speed, angle of first drop, length of ride, three trains, a few world-class stats for bragging rights, and (my personal favorite) some unique elements not done previously--plus everything else B&M hypers are revered for. And hey, I'm not a NASCAR or DE devotee, and I was never crazy about "Intimidator" for a name...but now that I have seen it all put together, I even think the themeing is great and the name really fits. The twists and turns in the track will enhance the "racing" feel. I also think this theme was indeed a very smart move on the part of Cedar Fair/Carowinds. I have a feeling we are gonna see some NASCAR/DE fans losing their roller coaster virginity next year
Did I mention that I am thrilled?
And by the way, good job with the site, it seems to have had a little blip for me, but now it's fine.

with the announcement on the new coaster they also said they were adding 10 or 12 new acres to the park. I thought the acreage they always quoted of 110 or whatever included all the land they owned, but if they are adding acreage by converting the parking lot to coaster area, then my question is how much acreage could this park turn into someday? I know they own a ton of land with Fiesta Plaza and other areas along 77 that were supposed to be hotels originally, and there are tons of fields that could become parking if they wanted to convert more parking lot.

Any ideas? I know that there had always been discussion on other boards about who has more space left. According to Wikipedia KD is larger than CP. I presume that's in terms of actual park, but having just been to CP, that seems hard to believe it's 25% smaller than KD. Interesting.

BTW: Did you guys notice that the "pond/fountain" wasnt in any of the marketing material? I mean probably doesnt mean much seeing as how neither was afterburn...but just a thought.

Yea I noticed that as well.

I was very surprised and very pleased with the coaster. That second drop and the turnaround looks absolutely wicked. I really can't find anything to complain about with the coaster. Its what the park has needed for a long time and I can't wait for next season to get here.

Wow who fed this Intaminfreak guy after midnight? Dont get him wet or more will spawn! I question a few things about the design and some things I dont like but I will judge it when I ride it... over and over... did I mention over and over again?
