General Carowinds discussion

Sorry to be such an uninformed n00b, but I simply don't have time to read through 70 pages. So can someone explain to me in a nutshell what exactly is going on here? Are we finally getting our hyper under the bridge?

I was checking RCDB and noticed that if this ride is taller than Behemoth and Diamondback, say 235 to 245 feet tall. It could be ranked as the 10th tallest in the world and the 5th or 6th in North America. That would be cool designation for the home park. I truly believe this ride will be the tallest of the three hypers that Cedar Fair has ordered.

^ It would also be the tallest in the south.

^^
A) No hyper under the bridge
B) Looks like a hyper, B&M most likely.
C) Nothing is official from the park.

Interesting note (at least to me anyway): If this is indeed a B&M hyper, then Carowinds will get the 10th one ever built.

Oh my God...did we just have a trev sighting?! Where the hell have you been the last couple, er, years? You just fell off the map there for a while...

Just stopped by the park on my way home from Charllote (just found out Charlotte's new motto is 'Charlotte's Got A Lot' with A LOT in bold...get it?). Not so much has changed in a day from what I could see, the drilling machine was parked at the end of the fence closest to the North Gate. I was able to snap a shot or two which I will try and get up later on, and it does look like that extra fenced in part where it comes out of the park will be a large turn of some sort; I saw in the middle of that 4-5 footer markings right next to each other (*crosses fingers for helix like on Goliath at SFMM!). Also, an interesting marker with a nail drilled into the pavement with a circle and three dots around it, with '1545' painted next to it. Not a clue what that means. I'll probably stop by again on Wed./Thurs. to see if any progress has been made.

Any way to add a Behemoth type turnaround at the far end and helix at the return to the station? Nice job though. What program did you use?

Man , I was thinking the same thing.you know it will have a Carolina Theme to it . And if they name after Dale the INTIMADATOR, Would bring in the masses that have not been to a Park in years.

Dude, you got some photoshop skills...

However, with a few picture modifications, change the piece by the south gate to what "Diamondback" has, throw in a mid run turnaround, and some extra track in that area over the H2O.... you have a plausible coaster...

Dude, if you get a hyper coaster that is say 245 feet tall, you will not only get the tallest hyper, but you will get the tallest roller coaster ever built by B&M. That would definitely be pushing their limits when it comes to height.
