Speaking of bag check. They were doing it last Saturday when I went, in front of the new gate.

Honestly, I preferred it when they were doing it in the walkways. At least the tents weren't an eyesore blocking the gate itself.

But whatever. I still had fun (as usual) and that's all that really counts I guess!

The park employees (or at least the ones I spoke to) are not very appreciative of the bag check/metal detectors. But they also understand (as well as myself) that it is a safety precaution.

Because this is the South; firearm capital of the galaxy.

That being said, I don't think everyone's personal liberties should be violated in exchange for anything; including safety, as the two are not mutually exclusive. There are plenty of other ways to make things safe for everyday citizens that don't involve lining people up and making them pull everything out of their bag/pockets. But I don't wanna get political.

I don't ever wait in the bag check. Once I get through the scan I walk right up to the turnstile. I figure if I don't have a bag why should I wait behind the ones that do?

Huh, they have always directed me to go straight to the turnstiles unless I have a bag.

I got in multiple times early this season with no checks at all. I guess things have changed because I was really shocked when I was allowed in no questions asked. I feel safer with a check personally... No matter how annoying it an be.
