General Carowinds discussion

I remember when Top Gun opened, and for at least a couple of years after, season pass holders could get 30 minutes or an hour of ERT before the park opened on it every day (then eventually it was changed to just weekends). That was really one of the best perks ever. I doubt they will do something like that for Intimidator, but it would be awesome if they did.

The last time I was in Canada's Wonder Land, or KI Behemoth and DB wernt built yet. So I wanted to ask someone who has, if they actually run 3 trains like carowinds says they are going to, or if one is just for storage? Because with 3 trains the line shoul go prety fast.

Every time I've been to KI this year, Diamondback has been running all 3 trains. And as far as I know, its been that way pretty much every day of the operational year. I went on the second day the park was open to the GP (Friday, April 24th I believe) and the park was a ghost town.

DB line wasn't more than a 5-10 minute wait, and they still ran all three trains.

Ok I love the idea of getting a ride based on Dale Earnhardt; however, I think one day carowinds should get a ride based on the carolina panthers. I just thought of that today what does everyone think of that idea? I think it will be a good way to show our support and spirit for our team. Also, it will be the first roller coaster in history to be themed to a NFL team.

Has to be one of the worst Ideas yet. I mean they could theme it after one of those TD Pass that Jake throws alot....to the other team that is. They could call it the INTERCEPTION. Please recalll that everyone on this board is not a Kittens fan, though I do pull for them when they play Dallas and this post was designed to be good hearted fun from a FALCON's fan.

If demand warrants three, then they'll run three like they do on Diamondback.

No other coasters @ carowinds can run 3 trains... they are too short. I think that Intimidator will be running 3 trains all the time, i could see them doing 2 during the week though.

Agree completely. Especially about the 2 during the weekdays. If it is slow why cause all the wear and tear when you could be doing preventative maintenance.

If your going to say that you might as well count that orange car (maybe car 4, I know 8 is the orange one that runs) at ricochet that has sat on the transfer track alllllll year. But really thou thats not a very good reason to try to drown peoples hopes when you compare how all the other Cedar Fair B&M Hypers run.

I think I might as well say keep your hopes up for 3 trains most the time, considering it is Cedar Fair that produces the Operationg Procedures for the ride, and also considering they already have two of these rides the protocol is most likely fairly standard by now.

We rode Nitro(SFGA) back in June, on a weekday, park was mildly crowded ~ they were operating ALL three(3) trains and of the four times we rode, we only waited 10 minutes at most for each ride. We have seen the same thing on busy days at Busch Tampa with all three trains working on Montu and Kumba, never took more that 15 minutes per ride. I know two families who have visited KI this summer and they were able to ride Diamondback multiple times with 10-15 minute waits. Carowinds WILL be on spot once Intimidator opens and they'll move the crowds right along. Dragster is a whole different animal and shouldn't be compared. Still, we've never waited more that 30 minutes on multiple visits to CP to ride Dragster. I bet Carowinds will do something for Season Passholders as well, although we may not know this until right around the opening of Intimidator.

On DiambondBack (this was the 2nd weekend it was open mind you) the longest I waited was like 20 minutes. That thing was a people-eater.

And as much as I hate assigned seats, it did seem to move things along a LOT.
