From the looks of the blueprints it is likely that in addition to going over guests heads, they will walk over the tunnel much like the south entrance with afterburn.

Oh...then you must hate wooden coasters because, ya know, they all pretty much have the same color scheme...

What's the largest cloned coaster to date??? I'm asking for a "friend"...

Titan and Goliath at SFOT/SFMM are almost clones except one has an extra helix I think. The Mr. Feeze coasters are pretty big too but they are shuttle/boomerang type coasters so I don't know if that counts.

If this does indeed turn out to be a B&M, it will be interesting to see if ours has the same cool support structure Leviathan uses on the lift hill. Leviathan might just be like that due to being built directly over Dragon Fire.

But then you wouldn't enter the park on the border. Entering the park and being between two states is one of the coolest parts of Carowinds. People who go to Carowinds for the first time always want to walk along the border, take pictures on it, and be in two states and once. Plus, think of all the things they would have to change to make that work. For starters, the main parking lot is right next to the north gate, so people would have to walk all the way over to the south gate to get in unless Carowinds changes the parking lot configuration. Also, the current entrance has the fountain, bridge, border, gift shop, the big Carowinds sign, skytower, etc. You'd have to add or move all of that to the south gate. Plus, the front gate has the plantation house, which is pretty classic. The front gate is also a lot bigger, so you'd have to make the south gate bigger to hold the crowds. Seems like a lot of work, and we are getting a $30 million coaster anyway. Why would you want to have the gate be near a coaster that's been in the park for 15 years as opposed to having our brand new coaster going over it? I think our front gate is fine the way it is, and having our new coaster go over it would make it even better.

South gate was open yesterday, I wouldnt compare south gate to a kitchen door more like sunroom door. To me, the kitchen door would the employee entrance. Furthermore, Rumor has it that south gate is closing forever next year.

Fortunately I'm able to avoid Saturdays at all times so the last time I used the south gate was during Scarowinds last year or maybe a couple years ago. My bet is that if this new coaster revamps the north gate area, that the south gate will close for good, but the path will stay and be reused sometime in a few years for water park expansion whenever it is that they expand Boomerang Bay to the other side of Thunder Road. It might not happen for a long time but it almost seems inevitable.

I am new to this forum. so with the new North Gate entrance, which I assume will be increasingly larger than it currently is to incorporate larger crowds, what do you think will become of the Plantation House? If anything I think it will be changed slightly to allow for the larger crowds. But again, all open for speculation as no construction has started on the new entrance other than the site markers and such.
