General Carowinds discussion

Led Zepplin ran paralell to the airport, and was as tall as it was allowed to be.

Come on, Intimidator was overshadowed by other HYPERS before it debuted. Intimidator was never the tallest of its kind when it opened, so why should it matter if another coaster tops it? I'm not saying that Intimidator is a bad ride, I love it! Also, I don't understand why you feel bad, if Carowinds is getting a coaster better than Intimidator then what difference does it make?

What other hypers are taller than Intimidator? I think it is a great ride. And aren't Diamondback, Behemoth, and Goliath in Georgia supposedly similar to Intimidator? And unless I am mistaken, wasn't Magnum XL the first hyper? I know back in the day it gained much notoriety.

I would like to ride those but have not made it to California or Texas. But next year I will concentrate on riding Fury, since I am just 90 mins. away.

I'm talking about pictures of how it looks now...

Silver Star in Europe is taller, as is Shambhala.

I have a 2 1/2 hour commute to Carowinds. Usually I start From Ridgeway, to Winston Salem, then to Salisbury, then to Charlotte.
But back to Fury. I'm happy that we have people in the area who can take pictures. It makes my day to see it from any angle other than the webcam. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE the view from the webcam. Meanwhile, I hope that you all have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday! Always be thankful for your family and friends for you never know when you may never see them again. And as I always say: be kind to one another and make each day count.

Both Gio Hypers are a lot of fun, but Goliath, to me, is just better. And the last time I rode both of them, it was just a few months apart. I, for one, wish that they would have been more successful as a stand alone company, instead of just manufacturing and brokering everyone else's stuff. I've heard Anaconda (Don't want none...) is ver good.

Why don't you just take I-77 all the way down to Charlotte? It goes all the way into Virginia, up to Wytheville where it intersects with I-81. Looks like that would be a direct shot, but I guess you know the best route.

It depends on where I have to start from. If I am in Ridgeway, it is closer to go the Winston Salem route. If I am in Bassett, then I go to Fairystone, then Stuart, then Mount Airy, then to I-77. Either way it takes roughly 2 1/2 hours. I do prefer the I-77 route though.
