General Carowinds discussion

Not only will Day One be insane for obvious reasons next year, but the fact that you will have to process your season pass before you can even enter the gates is going to be insane. Again, do the Dollywood system. It works so well.

When did this start happening because it was not like that at the first of the season all you did was go get it processed when you wanted to before they closed and you where fine.

I have a platinum pass from Kings Dominion. I am all set for next season and the way they did mine is I just paid $145 up front and I kept the original pass from this past season that I had and they just renewed the barcode for next season.

Now that daylight savings time has ended, these drive-home shots after 5 are not that going to be that great. Seriously blew out the exposure here to show any detail:

If someone can get there earlier in the afternoon....

Otherwise I'll try to swing by in the mornings when I'm not late for work. Which is most of the time.

Regardless of the quality Wormy, they are incredible pictures. I have enjoyed your updates so much, I talk about how great the Intimidator at Carowinds is coming along here in Intimidator 305 country and I get a bunch of dirty looks. Otherwise, I am excited about both rides.

Relating to the season passes, I was told a couple of weeks ago when we bought ours that the Season Pass office would be open, beginning sometime early in 2010 for us to swing by and get out pics and actual passes, before the season begins. I would watch for an announcement on this sometime after January 1st.

Wormy ~ GREAT PICS! Really appreciate the efforts ~ they are GREAT ~ especially for those of us living way off and not able to get through Charlotte every week... THANKS AGAIN!

The new system for passes is a real fiasco compared to almost every other park I have encountered. I was told I would have to process my pass on day 1 before I could enter the park, but this talk of early processing centers might alleviate that issue. I was also told that I could not process my pass at another park first if they opened previous to Carowinds.

The old system where you could renew a bar code before the season ended was MUCH better, hopefully they catch on to how much everyone hates the new crap and return to the tried and true system.

Looks like the 2nd camelback is almost completed on the cam.

At Kings Island, I bought my renewal for my gold pass. That is all I had to do. I don't have to get a new picture or anything. As far as Platinum passes, this year you could go to another park to get it processed if that park opened before the park you bought the pass at does. But you may not be able to do this next year.

The third bunny hop (the one after hammerhead) is about to be completed. It looks like they will continue with that and then connect to the hammerhead to the bottom of the third hill.

If you ever get the chance to ride Mean Streak or Mantis, you'll know why.

Just think about it logically. Your speed is already slowing when you are traveling uphill. Slowing it more with a trim isn't a natural motion, but it's a lot more natural than slowing it while you are accelerating traveling downhill. You would probably get thrown forward a bit if it was trimmed in the middle of a drop.

Thanks I understand now. I wish there was no such thing as trims lol.
