I believe that construction has already started with the demolition of log flume and will probably continue throughout this year! I really hope Carowinds come's through for us this time!

Ok I dont know if this really means anything but I was on google and I typed Carowinds 2010 reading about what people think of the log flume coming down when I came across a site that said online project listing this is the link-

http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:Lwo ... us&strip=0

if you scroll down you will see carowinds 2010 coaster. I think this was carowinds trying to find someone for the job to build the rumored coaster, but the when you click it the information isnt there anymore. Im not sure just thought someone else could take a look at it and tell me what they thought. its also say this at the top of the page.

Wow, that pretty much confirms things for 2010. This also suggests that this has been in the works for a while and Carolina Cobra might have been a last minute fill-in project to hold the park for another season. It is my understanding that when you place a multiple coaster order, you get steep discounts on everything past the first. And now with the economy in recession and the decline in the cost of steel, Fair could be making out like a thief on this. Now the big question is; what type of coaster might it be, a hyper, dive machine or a floorless?

if the yellow track is destined for Carowinds, it will most definitely not be a hyper.. either sit down or floorless.... I hope that yellow track isn't coming here- it looks to be a smaller looping coaster, and the all-yellow is kind of bland. I'm still hoping for a hyper..

Any B&M would be wonderful... there are just some I like more than others.

I'm still trying to be objective at this point, and not get my hopes up too much.

But the other side of my brain is jumping up and down hoping against hope for a hyper coaster.

Considering what I said before about the woods being "unavailable" for Scarowinds next year and the flume going, it screams a really large coaster.

Floorless have come and gone it seems, so hyper seems the most likely. Or second to that would be a GCI woodie, but frankly I can't see them putting more wood in the park.

It has to be a hyper, Log Flume wouldn't come down this early for something the size of Afterburn. Afterburn and Nighthawk removal and construction didn't start until August. Why would Log Flume be gone before 2009 season it can be taken out in a matter of weeks or days. My only question is, will our hyper use Log Flume's ponds for a splashdown.

I should say so!!! I'm not really to jump on the HYPER bandwagon just yet. I could understand the removal of flume this early for any coaster. I'm sure some ground work will have to be done such as leveling if needed.

im not a betting man but im betting there will not be a splash down...you dont wanna become gimmick-y with your coasters. Now if it is a hyper will it feature the de'ja vu style trains?

If it is a hyper, I wonder how long it will be before 250ft becomes the new max. for the B&M hyper? It would be so sweet if we could lay claim to the tallest B&M on the planet. Folks would certainly fall over one another coming to Carowinds. Being that they put the splashdown on Diamondback, I hope this one is unique in a certain way. Currently Behemouth is the tallest and the first with the funky new trains. I know we are way ahead of ourselves but I swear, I have not been this excited since they announced Top Gun over 10 years ago.

and that's the thing... 10 whole years (more like 11)... that is a loooong time between major investments for a park the size of Carowinds, near a quickly growing major city... hopefully the coaster will be something a bit bigger than Top Gun... it has been way too damn long for something on that same level.. although it wouldn't surprise me at all if we end up with a small, bright yellow B&M looper

Assuming that it is a hyper that we are getting in '10, most likely it will be an out and back? I believe all but one of B&M's hypers are out and back design, but boy I would love to see something done like Raging Bull - I absolutely love that ride!
