General Carowinds discussion

Maybe the best thing is not to go past the cones folks. There is really no need to try to upset the boat here folks. Please remember that you are on the property of Carowinds and they do have a right to tell you that you can not go past the cones if they see fit. Though it would be easier if they do infact post signs telling you not to enter.

I am not on the side of the park her folks before someone wants or tries to attack me. I am just saying it is easier to do what is ask of you and not try to do something that will get you booted from the park for a number of years and then when that coaster is up and running the only thing you can do is watch it. Is it really worth it to try it.

Plus if I am not mistaken the park does not run this website so tell me just how they will get your username and track you down? Last I look my friend Mr. Hawkins payes the bill for this site for us to enjoy. I would think they would have to go to him to get that info and I am sure he might be reluctant to give it out.

But lets for once takes the advice of Rollernuts and stay out of those areas that would be considered questionable. Would really hate to see some of you guys and gals not able to ride what they are building at Carowinds or any other Cedar Fair Park.

And thanks for the picture update folks.

I agree with every word of that. You are on their land , they can tell you to stop. They do have signs for a reason such as "stay out" or "Restricted area". It is not like it is wrong to take photos of dirt. I'm sure they do not care if we take photos , but if any information has been "leaked" that is true , I doubt they would want it all over the internet. To stay on-topic here , the Carowinds officals don't really mind you taking pictures of construction , I'm sure , but passing restricted areas is pretty darn stupid and they will take action.

^^^ The guards probably just wanted to know what you were doing. Unless you were at the park when it was closed , in a "stay out" zone or anything else , I don't know why they would stop you. Unless they were bored and wanted to see some photos which I doubt...

Having seen the "Carowinds Security" in action (*story below at *) I have no doubt that they were unnecessarily "scary" or imposing just because they wanted to be.

Regardless, it isn't worth any trouble to get pictures of dirt... we will all know the details of our coaster soon enough. If you did happen to catch anything good on film though, you shouldn't be afraid to post it because what the hell are they going to do?

Can't wait for our official announcement, thanks for the new pics guys!

*My friend was assaulted in the parking lot by an angry 300 hundred pound redneck woman. Carowinds Security rolled up and put my friend and I in handcuffs on our knees in the grass.... while we were trying to explain that he had been assaulted. Meanwhile, the whale was running around the parking lot screaming like a maniac for about ten minutes before she fled the scene prior to actual cops arriving. Needless to say, I don't trust the security very much at Carowinds after being handcuffed for no reason and held while my friend's assaulter drives away in her minivan.

Changed my username as you can see.

Um, if they really want to find out who you are, it's not that hard.

That being said, I haven't had any problems with security, but too I haven't been to the park in about two weeks.

Also, if you go past said bathrooms, it's pretty obvious you don't need to be back there. I was shocked there wasn't a barrier at all to prevent you walking up to the construction gate. That might have changed now.

Like Dave said, be careful guys. Soon enough we will know what this is gonna be, and we'll ALL be on the skytower taking pictures!

Ridership will double next year (on the skytower).

Does this meen no one can take pics of the parking lot dirt? :x :x

Not if you take the pics from the parking lot. ;) Just make sure you go on a busy day so you can walk the whole length to the south gate.

^ I didn't know that. They can kick you out of the park for taking photos in the parking lot? Interesting...

Yes , I do have photos. I'll share a few more I guess . Since it was requested.

Sorry for the late chiming in, had a book signing for my latest new yorks best seller...Anyway guys I wouldn't loose sleep over the security. Worst has happen to me at the park lol (and no it wasn't on chopper chase). Pretty much the same scene but they didn't asked for my pass. They stated some terrorist crap and I like like dude I'm black, we don't strap up bombs and end it all! After making a phone call to confirm who I really was (they couldn't believe a celeb was in their presence). The remainder of they day "the fan" club followed me around. I personally think it was commendable. You have a lot of nut jobs who would do crap just to make a youtube video to look cool so I applaud the park for having the security but I aint no terrorist dangit!

Now as far as the construction...it looks like the transfer track shed will be inside the turn around...

Have you heard of the Courts? The park can contact the police, who can in turn get a search warrant. That would require Mr. Hawkins to give over information about users. Also, the police can trace your IP Address...

So are you saying White Lightning isn't the name of the new roller coaster?
#30992
^No , it very well could be. I was just saying basically that if my park had information leaked out in the internet , I wouldn't want it there. There really isn't much they can do about it though unless they really wanted to spend hours with athorities removing every peice of information about the name. But then , we would know that was the name. I say we just wait for the announcement . I'm looking forward to it.

^^ No problem. I have an album , so if you would like to see more just tell me ! I wouldn't mind posting some more.

Do you have any from the parking lot?
#30994
No , my brother parked in the seasons pass parking lot even when I told him not to. I might be going tomorrow again. If I do , I'll get some more. I think they are going to pour some footers there . I won't cross the fence! You'd have to be an idoit to do so..

Now correct me if I am incorrect but in my posting I said Jon would be reluctant to hand that info over. If I did not then by all mean please inform me. Did I mention anything about Police or tracing IPs? The correct answer would be I did not did I?

And yes I have heard of the Courts for your information but thanks for asking.

Now move along and veer this puppy back on course.
