General Carowinds discussion

...I'd be up for that especially if it was a launch. And it doesn't have to be "white".

White lightnin' is also a reference to Moonshine... "Corn Squeezins" if you want to relate the corn.

So, the name technically could still fit the layout AND the teaser.

Lets have some stills in the "barn".
Also, would be really cool if Carowinds started their own craft distillery and put it next to the ride. They could sell the "white lightnin'" in Harmony Hall as well as in a new eatery near the coaster or under the station.

uscbandfan wrote:"Project alpha - DIGITAL" - I still like the fact that "digital" could be a reference to a VR component.

I dont thin DIGITAL has to do with the actual project, other than maybe how it was filed or something.... All other projects, such as a picnic canopy at Carowinds also say digital. Other projects on evolve site also say digital, not just the Carowinds ones.

I was at the park today. The typical work. They are digging more footers, and there are cement trucks on site. Not a ton changes between these pictures, but they’re still fun to share anyways :-D

Seems like more footers are visible, still working in the same general area as Friday. Looks they they moved their grill

I wonder what is in those boxes in that last picture...

Is it just the angle of these overhead shots, or does it just not look like the layout fits in this space? I haven't been to the park since construction started to get an in person look, but from these pictures it never looks like that space is wide enough to fit two launches in it....

Those who have been there feel free to enlighten me

I think there is plenty of space, it wont be a huge coaster, and not high speed, tight turns and inversions but I think 2 launches will fit just fine. I think the first launch will go right down beside the fence...kind of at an angle back towards dodgems... The curves and inversion will take place over there and turn around will be behind the old bathouse into the next launch which will hit the overbanked curve or tophat, which will be on the upper corner in the water park.... Just my guess though...

I may be blind but it looks close enough to a footer/footing/concrete cylinder formation or something.

Edit: yeah had a better view but said file was too large so here’s a potato shot

When I was at the park today near dodgems, I saw both cranes moving a few of those around. I think it was those that they were moving, they looked very similar to that. Maybe I am completely wrong, haha. Still, nice find!
