I was just doing a little random research on roller coasters and found something interesting. The Head of Design for Cedar Fair is Eric B. Clefk. Or, if you put it together, that's...

That's gotta be it. Odd though that they would put his name on there. I guess he must be designing the new coaster. Does anybody know what coasters he has designed in the past?

Actually, as a matter of fact, I do. He was "Head of Design" for Disaster Transport with Intamin and Giovanola. HE painted the 12E on there. That's kind of like his "signature". Correction: He doesn't work for CF, he works at the design firm below. They have worked WITH CF in the past, in addition to Disney, Universal etc... I would say he will be the designer for this coaster...!

On August 3, 2005, it was revealed that it stands for the 12th ride design by the ITEC employee Eric.

One more thing to add to the Eric Clefk thing. He's a Themer, not a coaster designer. He designed all the theming for MOST of the Disney and Universal coasters. He is the premier themer in the amusement industry. This leads me to believe that we may see some pretty incredible theming on this coaster? He's only done 12 in the past. This will be #13.

Awesome work 1095! With that, I'm going to go ahead and let my hopes get a little high for the theming side of project 2010. I'm really not a fan of the NASCAR idea to be completely honest. I don't see how a designer of Clafk's caliber could be fully utilized there. I watched a video of disaster transport on the tube, and that is some really intense theming. I think a severe storm / escape / chaser theme would be very easy here. Think storm warning sirens, radar screens throughout the station etc.

*sigh* This is all a wet dream of mine. Still, a man can dream right?

^a storm theme would be great. Heck, after experiencing severe storms every day this week in Charlotte, it would be a perfect fit. Long dark tunnels with lightning strobe lights. Mmmm good!! Giant hail stones raining down on passengers for the big finale......
