General Carowinds discussion

Yea it's about time the track should show up somewhere for a coaster this large. You would have thought we would have seen some of it at the factory in Ohio by now. I guess it may be very well hidden, or they are just doing the Thunderbird track for Holiday World first.

Just for the record....we will not be getting a launch coaster. I'm pretty sure that teaser is for future reference. Won't be getting a winged coaster either. We will be getting a gigantic giga the likes never seen before! One of a kind exclusive to carowinds! The ELEMENT of surprise is killing me......

Did it ever cross our minds that Carowinds could be releasing the "leaked" information ahead of time? It's been discussed before, but I remember back in 2009/2010, when we were wrong and ended up with a B&M Hyper Coaster, which exceeded our prior expectations.

I thought everyone knew we were getting a B&M hyper? Kings Dominion was the big surprise. After Diamondback and Behemoth, the only question was how tall.

That White Lighting teaser was done in the form on a question. It is up to the observer to answer it correctly. If you look at it that way, it frees the park from all high crimes.

From THIS thread:

coasterbruh wrote:Sooo...temp storage area? I noticed it was exactly 3 weeks to the official announcement that the track showed up...I wonder if things are gonna "happen" ever week until the 26th because personally I think bring 2 pieces of track was to add fuel to the dying fire after the white lightining fiasco...

From reading this, do you think that we could expect track to arrive on Friday (August 1st)?

LOL! I suppose I can chime in. :)

The yellow and black complete transformation banner is in reference to the whole "Rome wasn't built in a day" theme as well. It is simply stating that the park is about to undergo a MAJOR transformation. And by major, I'm not just talking about the coaster or the entrance plaza. I'm telling you folks... The announcement on the 21st is going to blow people away. People who haven't been to this park in several years will not recognize it after the next few years of changes happen. And yes, the "Above & Below" refers to everything going on above as well as the tunnel(s) on the coaster. The below could also be referencing the infastructure that is happening (electrical, water, IT, etc) that is being added in the ground for future expansion.

I think the "Can Lightning Strike Twice" banner is, in a way, playing up to us coaster geeks. In my opinion, I think it's referencing that this coaster will be the second B&M giga by asking "Can B&M create their second coaster over 300'?" The answer is a resounding yes.

ok u got me thinking now, are they putting all their cards on the table for the whole expansion on the 21st? Or are we still going to be teased each year of each new addition?

Carowinds seems to be changing the banners out often, I doubt the White Lightnin' name will return but this is the second nnifer time they have teased out with it. Being on the history kick that the park seems to be on, it seems alittle more likely. However this leaves one wondering about the "Fury 325" name. No other park is getting a giga this year, could it be drop tower?

I'm not sure how they intend to handle it, but I'm assuming that the main stuff for 2015 will be announced on the 21st with maybe a hint at future infastructure upgrades (2016 and beyond) to handle the growing park. I'm almost certain they will not announce any new rides/coasters for any year other than 2015 on the date.

And there is always a good chance that they will announce the bulk of 2015's additions on the 21st and then add a few more here and there over the course of the off-season to keep interest up.
