General Carowinds discussion

That's been there since the 9th of July I believe. What's new on it are the folks who are reviewing everything and approving/not approving it. Looks like lots of final reviews are taking place this week as several are pending and closed as of yesterday.

LOL! I suppose I can chime in. :)

The yellow and black complete transformation banner is in reference to the whole "Rome wasn't built in a day" theme as well. It is simply stating that the park is about to undergo a MAJOR transformation. And by major, I'm not just talking about the coaster or the entrance plaza. I'm telling you folks... The announcement on the 21st is going to blow people away. People who haven't been to this park in several years will not recognize it after the next few years of changes happen. And yes, the "Above & Below" refers to everything going on above as well as the tunnel(s) on the coaster. The below could also be referencing the infastructure that is happening (electrical, water, IT, etc) that is being added in the ground for future expansion.

I think the "Can Lightning Strike Twice" banner is, in a way, playing up to us coaster geeks. In my opinion, I think it's referencing that this coaster will be the second B&M giga by asking "Can B&M create their second coaster over 300'?" The answer is a resounding yes.

Maybe it's asking the question "Can B&M create their second launched coaster?"

Supposedly, the launch on Thunderbird has been outsourced to Intrasys, the company that does the launches for Premier. I don't know how much truth there is to that, though.

This implies that several major rides or attractions will be coming in the next few years, in addition to the giga coaster. Which is exciting news indeed. But can you say when you expect the track to show up? They seem to be doing a good job of keeping it hidden up in Ohio or wherever it may be coming from.

3rd, after Hulk & Thunderbird

I feel like we've been over this at least three times in the last week...

I will confess that when I originally heard that C.F. was buying the Paramount chain I disapproved. The only reason is that we all know how far behind Carowinds is / was than the other parks and I actually felt as if C.F. would sell off Carowinds to someone else. Our park has been through the drain so many times and recycled I was loosing hope in it becoming what the other parks were. With every year we all get older and for those of us who have been attending Carowinds since opening day kind of loose hope now and then that we would never have something to really brag about.

With all the 2013 season I could smell something in the air. And no, it wasn't Jarvis. J/K But I could tell change was coming. Now, with all the speculations up in the air, all the construction projects, the food establishments upgrades, the TOLL booth movement I can see big things for Carowinds over the next several years.

It is not just Jarsh and other senior members here chatting, although that helps, it is looking at the placement of construction projects and other hear say that you can imagine the possibilities. I really want the Carolina atmosphere left in the park but bring it on. Kudos to C.F. for pumping us up. Tease away!
