I don't have a problem with it. I kind of wish it was closer to give a good head chopper effect.

Doubt it will be noticed until you've ridden it a few times. Everyone will be focusing on the track in front of them and the OH CRAP factor of the ground rushing up to meet them at 95mph.

Looks like they may have to move the cam again today.

maybe like UK's Thorpe Park initial testing :)

"Thorpe Park's new £20m ride The Swarm has urgent redesign after dummies return from test run with limbs snapped off"

Ya know... I have absolutely no idea why I was thinking 5000 HOURS. I meant to sat 5000 LAPS. In either case, that still seems high when I think about it. I was basing the 5000 number of what I thought I remembered SFOG mentioning whenever they were getting ready to open Goliath.

I hope it's 500 laps because that seems a little more feasible than 5000 laps, lol.

Remember though - the number of laps isn't just for state certifications and training. This is a brand new coaster with brand new parts and they all need to be "broken in" to some extent as well. Most of the testing is for getting the wheels to the right mix to keep the ride's speed in check.

5000 laps at 3.5 minutes each cycle would take...
~17500 minutes
~292 hours
~12.1 days

and that would be running 24/7

Well, once they were certain they had the bugs worked out of Goliath they did run it 24/7. Now, whether that was to make sure it was ready for opening day or because they had to, I don't know.

A previous Carowinds press release wasn't specific... only saying:

"Hundreds – Test runs with water dummies that will be required before the official certification process can begin."

That sounds more appropriate. 500ish test runs should be enough time to get everything tweaked.

Less than 3.5 minutes because you have three trains running; probably more like one minute between dispatches.
