General Carowinds discussion

I also think they'd want to get the lift-chain assembled/installed and the whole lift motor operational (along with the associated electrical and control systems) before they bother to put the trains on. Without those things, the trains would just sit there as they'd be unable to move them about. Then the trains would be in the way as they finish up all the work around the station and transfer mechanisms.

But I haven't seen anybody mention those things, was anything said at the event on Saturday? Is the chain in place? Did they give an estimate on when they expected testing to begin?

The chain is there, just not on the lift yet. Should take a few days once the install starts though.

No word (that I heard) on when testing should start. I'm guessing mid to late February. As it's been said, they've got to finish the track, run all the electrical, install sensors, install the chain, etc.

They only have one train at this point. The second will arrive later if I'm remembering correctly.

Hi guys. I have been a lurker on here for quite some time but I felt like I would finally post something. I've had a Carowinds season pass every year I have been alive (first trip in 94 I was 4 weeks old lol) and I have always been interested in coasters, but I have learned so much from all of you on this forum so thanks for that! It's fun to see Fury go up while thinking about all of these different aspects of construction. Can't wait for opening day and to keep interesting conversations going.

So, I'm finally finishing up Florida and getting the few new credits that have been added, as well as the parks I've yet to go to the week before Fury opens. So, and this is keeping a good coushion just in case in Florida, I'll be hitting Fury as my 325th coaster.

painters have been hanging from a basket and lowering themselves down the supports to do touchups. We saw them during the WWU

Maybe spoke too soon. They've moved the cars.
