the only reason I can think of to build this thing 300 feet high, is it is basically going to be above existing structures, the palladium, etc, so the drop may only be 170 feet but the whole coaster remains 100 feet above everything else. Its not going to dip down all the way to the ground. This could be quite unique if done that way, if so I retract my "lame" comment. The first wing coaster that actually make you feel like flying because it its always in the sky. however if this is 300 feet and filled with trims, thats a huge fail.

So theres your record breaking

Tallest Winged Coaster in the world.
Fastest Wing Coaster in the South

I was thinking the same thing.

I trust B&M with all my life (or else I'd never ride Intimidator :p) so I think they'll be able to do it in a way that won't be downright miserable.

And the Cedar Fair picture they allegedly showed at the meeting did have the coaster going right through the palladium. But not out to the enterance like the transcript suggested?? I'm a little confused. But excited.

The notes are here: http://charmeck.org/city/charlotte/Candidates%20Request%20Responses/06%2024%2013%20Closed%20Session%20%28Cedar%20Fair%20Southwest%29.pdf

You will note that the guy doing most of the talking is Peter Zeiler, with Neighborhood & Business Services Economic Development and not a representative of Cedar Fair. While I agree that jist of the information is correct, his details and lack of total knowledge is evident so I wouldn't consider everything he says as being 100% factually accurate, but rather a summary of what he took notes of from Cedar Fair.

I'm putting my money down on Intamin as the manufacturer. It took B&M quite a while to hit the 300 foot coaster mark and they just came out with their wing coaster. I dont think they are ready to turn out a coaster that combines both of their new designs yet.
