FamousAmos wrote:Hey Mike (if you're reading this) you should have someone park a truck underneath the support that will go over the road. So that the "clearance" debate can be put to rest.

If you read all the comments, they concerned more than just clearance... also whether there would be cement barriers protecting the track supports... and the common sense safety aspect of allowing a 40 ton truck driving in close proximity to track supports while people are riding the ride... see how funny that would be to you if one of your loved ones suffered that fate

You took my comment in the complete wrong direction.
That's all that I need to say and that's all that I'm going to say.

Don't worry, posters on here know more about civil engineering, construction, and safety than the people who actually do it for a living.

Try driving your car into a five foot thick steel pole anchored into the ground by four feet of concrete and tell me how much damage you do to it.

Maybe Cabelas will have a good deal on a tent during their grand opening.

speaking of that, will Carowinds be sponsoring cabelas in any way and vice versa?

Ha, I asked this question awhile ago and got no answer, good luck. I know i'll be pulling up to the drop off lot around 8 AM. I just wonder how soon before 10 AM can people actually go to the front gate.

With as busy as you guys think it's gonna be, I'd get there no later than 6. That way you can keep a place in line for the rest of us as we eat breakfast.

They seriously need to remove dinosours alive you see how much space it takes a good launch coaster or just expansion could be made in that spot.

When the Dinos are removed, that are needs to be used to expand Planet Snoopy.
If they put enough love into that area, I could see Carowinds taking home the Golden Ticket for kiddieland one day. But alas...

Who the hell drives a 40-ton truck around just for the fun of it? The maintenance folks don't just hop in their crane truck and ride over to Fury to reset the ride. We're talking normal, everyday vehicular traffic here. The most traffic that support will see is from a maintenance truck every so often and the occasional golf cart.

Chill out about the support and it's clearance "issues." I'm sure the park really appreciates you making a big deal over absolutely nothing (death and dismemberment?!?!), especially when any person from the media could see your postings on here and cause a stink.

In other news... The queue for this thing is going to be massive. Definitely don't want to wait in it when it's full. Looks like some prime photo spots at the end that's out there past the hop onto the brakes though.

Only if you take a chill pill.

I mean, c'mon. We're getting this 325' tall roller coaster that's been built to exact specifications by the Mercedes Benz of coaster designers who have a 100% safety record and all you care to talk about is how you're concerned a normal size truck won't fit through a 25'x25' opening.
