I will be at Carowinds on the 10th and will try to take some pictures (probably not high quality since i'll probably be on the hurler and taking the pics on my iPhone) I have specifically instructed the group I am going with that we MUST ride hurler and drop zone.

Remember, no taking pictures from the rides!

EDIT: Forgot something: You know those signs in the Thrill Zone that say "Speed Limit 37 1/2"? I'm not sure how long those have been there, but maybe they're hinting at the height of the coaster, which would mean either 307' 5", 337' 5", or (even better) 375'...

This is the funniest thing in this thread so far. That 37 1/2 sign is just the last bastion of Wayne's World themeing from 20 years ago. Wouldn't surprise me if it's gone next year if the entire area gets a revamp.

I'm actually scared to death of hornets; much more than wasps. They are ferocious and painful when they sting. They mean business.....

If Carowinds wants to name the coaster after a TRULY horrifying insect, they should name it after those ferocious Japanese Hornets. Jesus Christ, those things make me crap myself just thinking about it.

I don't know how they got here but they're in North Carolina! They live off the sap from the trees in my yard and I'm scared to even walk outside sometimes! I'm pretty sure if one of those things came after me I would die right then and there before they even stung me injecting their deadly venom...

I dont mind if its call the hornet or whatever but this is going to be tallest non launched coaster in the world, right? Hornets/Bees are small. Wouldnt make much sense.

No track today but there is some brown steel in the area next to Thunder Road. The parking lot is fenced off like it was for Cobra.

If we somehow get the teal track the name should be, Son of Leviathan.

No disrespect, but I think that would be a horrible name. Why?

1. Leviathan hasn't been around long enough to be a daddy.
2. Most of the GP has no idea what Leviathan is. Not only is it in a different park, it's in a different country.

I don't know about the steel, but that part of the parking lot next to TR has been fenced for at least a few months...

So, for fun I am going way out on a limb. What if CF combined an Italian word (sticking with those Roman teasers) with a stinging insect such as a Hornet. And we have CALABRONE! Google it.

Now, I realize this is unlikely but it is a scenario no one has brought up yet. It wouldn't surprise me though if they somehow used a local theme. After all, we are the only CF park whose name hints at the location of the park.

I hope it would be anything but a winged coaster! Gatekeeper was boring all that was missing was a lullaby and i would have been asleep. I want this coaster to give me an adrenaline rush like Volcano, MF, or top thrill ect when i step off of it. I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions though.
