Why did you get rid of your post?

For those that missed it...

b&mcoaster1095 wrote:you can believe me or you might not but...

my dad works with a guy whos son works at carowinds and he said the new coaster is a B&M hyper PROTOTYPE coaster. its supposedly going to be in the top 10 list for longest coasters in the world and it will be similar in layout to Apollos Chariot at BGW... he also said it's going to have a ..... launch mechanism instead of a chain lift?which i dont believe entirely but it could be part of the prototype thing (B&M's first launch coaster) so i guess we'll see what happens ??

he told me not to tell anyone so i just got rid of it because i felt guilty and i forgot that you quoted it... sorry... and i know it was stupid and farfetched and maybe i AM being lied to but if it actually does come true i didnt want to ruin it...

Who said a roller coaster has to be complete by October? They don't open until March...I remember when the built both Nighthawk and Afterburn and both of those had construction through the winter up until about Feb., then about a month of testing or so - if I remember correctly.

And, using the picture Wormy provided outlining the fenced off area, I went to Google Earth and did some number crunching. Taking into account the length of both the fenced in area, the former log flume area, hill heights, and one or two large elements (i.e. helix) this roller coaster could easily be in the top 10 longest roller coasters in the world. It would only need to be right around 5,800ft. long to do so, and judging by the calculations it could even be a bit longer than that.

Having said all of that, I still don't believe any of it, but it's fun to think that feasibly it could be done. The part that got me was a 200ft. tall launch hill.

yeah, if youve seen the pictures of the yellow track outside the B&M plant in ohio, thats rumored to be a floorless (or a sit-down) and i guess we could get that but most people lean towards the hyper (the red track that sits next to the yellow track) :D...but you said you're from around KD and my guess for them would be something Intamin... unless another B&M track shows up at the steel plant because KD already has Dominator.

ever think carowinds could get the intamin? just a thought i think they would benefit more from an intamin hyper than b&m because of sfog and intamin hypers are really good/fun

I spent the afternoon at Carowinds with my kids (also 1000's of MS and HS students). I can agree that I heard the same rumor as earlier posted on this site today. The start of the ride is with a launch mechanism. It is supposed to be over 300 feet. They want it bigger than Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster. The beginning of the ride will be just like these two coasters.
***RUMOR: The announcement for the ride will take place before next Friday. Reason for this is that the merchandise people need to start preparing for this "large" attraction. That was discussed on site 2-3 days ago "announcement within 10 days". Let's see what happens.
I also do believe that the old log flume pool will be used for an ending splash down effect after looking around and from up above today.
The truth is it is getting exciting and maybe an announcement next week. Can anyone confirm an announcement with Dani at the park?

B&Mcoaster's source said it would be completed by scarowinds. But he deleted the updated one before FSU could quote it. And Goldsteh- I was one of those middle school kids.

Been going to Carowinds for 12 years. Know a lot of the staff. I won't delete my submission because I believe the source. Yes, I just joined your site, only because I didn't know how. My guess is that this "rumor" might have some strong validity. Why not wait a week and see if we have an announcement before jumping to conclusions. I'm not backing down because my story and source matches exactly what the other poster said.

^^^^i guess, but you have to remember that SFOG is about 4 hours away from carowinds (alot farther away than most people think) and a good B&M hyper would compete with Goliath... and i dont think Intamins are necessarily better... just people think they are because of SROS (Bizarro... whatever you call it.)... there are alot more B&M hypers than Intamin hypers and their best one just happens to be superior to the rest... the others are not so great...

So what I am about to say is something I usually roll my eyes at when I see it on the boards, but here it is anyways. I finally got to the park for my first visit of 2009 today. It’s been a while for me and I always carry a pocket knife with me and I didn’t think anything about leaving it in the car so I turned it into guest services so I could pick it up before I left the park. I go over to the window and a woman was beside me talking to one of the employees (the manager I'm guessing because she was b**ching about parking) and I had to get nosey and see what she was saying. She said that she had to park too far away and since the state of SC deemed her as healthy enough not to receive a handicap privilege, she had to park in regular parking.

Now, this woman was a little big (no offense) but she was totally being rude for no reason what so ever. The customer service lady was trying to explain why some of the parking was blocked off and the woman could not understand the word construction. She wanted to know the exact reason for the fence being there which was keeping her from parking closer to the park. The employee said, and quote "Our park is currently under construction in that area and that section of the parking lot has been fenced off for safety purposes so construction can continue without any distributions to our guest. We understand parking is hectic at the current moment and I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you"...end quote! Of course the woman kept on crying about having to walk, but I was really hoping some info would come out about the future of that area, but she avoided letting the woman know what was exactly going on.

Just thought that was a bit interesting so I wanted to share that with you guys. Take it for what it is, nothing real big, but its info none the less.

Careful what you post. The regulars might not believe you.
When people other than the regulars are correct on this one, you will all be happy with the end results and will be wanting to meet us.

Hey, I wasn't attacking you, I was just being skeptical after the footer post! If anything I should be thanking you now for starting this chain reaction of hints! No hard feelings. And I think things are really starting to get interesting at the park, I can't wait to see what happens next! With so many sources hinting at something on this board, I find it hard to believe this isn't the real thing. :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
