General Carowinds discussion

I did not say we were getting a hyper anywhere in that post. I only said what I think are facts about hyper coasters and that I want a fast coaster around 250 feet tall. I do think if we are getting a coaster there is a great chance it will be a hyper. I also don't have any indication it will be steel, but do you see any wood coaster tracks sitting around anywhere? There is nothing wrong with hoping for something big.

Again, there is no roller coaster handbook sitting around saying what a coaster has to be called or not. Xcelerator isnt called a "hyper" since it is over 200ft tall how about Eejanaika, no...how about mr. freeze?

Oh yeah, do you see any steel tracks sitting at carowinds anywhere...

Honestly lol do you EVER see wooden tracks sitting around at a "wood fabrication" plant?

By all means hope for big but keep those hopes within reason because you will be severely dissapointed due to YOUR own speculation...not just directed to you but everyone else who is thinking like you lol...
#28001
Come on man! As I recall it was YOU who said this was a time for free for all speculation. Hoping for a 250 foot hyper coaster is my speculation! The only reason I posted those numbers in the first place was to show it was very unlikely we'd get a coaster over 300 feet! I did not call you out personally or anything so get off my back when I'm only posting what I hope will happen! Alright? And as I said in my first post I THOUGHT coasters were classified like that. Truce, okay? :| We all love Carowinds, don't hate a dreamer!

im gonna post what I hope happens...

Project called OFF lol lol...

Jarvis "understands the excitement of the park getting a "new" coaster and just being a protagonist" morant

im pretty sure we've already established we are DEFINITELY getting a coaster (documents to prove it), whatever type it may be

yeah, if youve seen the pictures of the yellow track outside the B&M plant in ohio, thats rumored to be a floorless (or a sit-down) and i guess we could get that but most people lean towards the hyper (the red track that sits next to the yellow track) :D...but you said you're from around KD and my guess for them would be something Intamin... unless another B&M track shows up at the steel plant because KD already has Dominator.

Yeah right & like carowinds doesn't have multiple B&M's? All KD has so far is one.You guys may be getting a floorless rather than a hyper who knows? KD has started to kick things into gear as there's been a bit of work spotted recently behind anaconda,as well as a few construction markers so both parks are proceeding according to plan on their respective 2010 projects.

Right now ONLY the individual managers at each park & CF corporate know what's in store for 2010 & not any of us so until track arrives at eaither park(and it will sometime this season) then we're really getting ahead of ourselves(and setting ourselves up for disappointment) by claiming to know with 100% certainty what each of these two parks are getting.

carowinds only has two B&M's (vortex and afterburn) and im sorry to tell you that the construction work thats being done at carowinds is alot more extensive and is over a MUCH larger area than KD... soooo i'd say by thinking that you would get the B&M hyper at your park before us is going to be setting yourself up for disappointment more than us...but it could go either way i guess.... why do you think KD will get the B&M over the Intamin? just want to know your thoughts on that. :)

fyi...someone posted on here and said the announcement for carowinds would come sometime this upcoming week ... but that is not confirmed.

well, this is starrting to get viscous, i hope the announcement comes soon so everyone can calm down. I hope the new ride isn't a TTD or King da ka ride because that isn't a loyout that required the removal of the log flume. I also dont think were getting the "worlds tallest and longest coaster" or some crazy "next genneration prototype coaster". I hope it is at least a hyper coaster like Dimmnod back because it would still be an amazing ride and a huge tep up for carowinds. oh and i really hope it is a b&m because that is the only new track that has been spotted in the country, so if it isn't ours then we wont be getting a coaster this year.
Oh and im hoping to get out to the park tomorrow and i will try to get some pics

You don't pay attention to posts do you? The construction documents show that Carowinds is getting a coaster. Duh. It's just a question of what type of coaster.

Glad to see some of the newer members of the board have TACT down to a science. Maybe next time you will use it alot better.

I look forward to any pics that are posted and want to thank the people who have been posting them as the progress of this ride moves along.

Is there a link to these documents
#28012
I know there's the documents showing some type of coaster coming in 2010....but I would laugh so hard if they came out with the announcement and it was "LOG FLUME...RELOADED!" lol.
#28013
^^ well the document is still there but the information was deleted a few days after it was released to keep it concealed but most of the coaster community saw it.... the same thing happened to KD.
