At this point, the story will air on NBC Nightly News on THURSDAY.

Is this NBC Charlotte local news for WCNC or the national news? NBC does have a Charlotte bureau that produces and coordinates national stories for the network.

Going to paint the train soon
Logo
Track and Platform, ran out of paint, this is not final. I need to add the neon yellow/green to the bottom of the spine as well.

My experience in being a life time news junkie, they will send a national crew to cover the opening of the tallest in the world. It will be the light and fluffy story they will close the newscast with. The lead in will go something like this.....

"As things go, it was only a matter of time before a new record breaking roller coaster debuts at a amusement park just in time for spring break. Carowinds on the North/South Carolina boarder is taking the warps off the tallest Giga Coaster on the planet. For you non coaster fanatics, a giga caster is a coaster that is over 300 feet tall. Fury325 tops out at 325 feet. Our Sam Smith went down to give it a spin."

The NBC crew is national-- Correspondent is based out of Chicago.
Yes, NBC does have a base in Charlotte. But the story was assigned to this correspondent because he wanted to do it!

Good to see the national exposure. I am starting to wish now I was going to Media Day. Meanwhile, I have now seen the Fury commercial on the Greenville-Spartanburg TV stations as well as Charlotte.

Haven't commented in a while. It looks like things are really coming together. I'm so happy for Carowinds! On a side note, every time I look at that cam I keep hoping the workers finish the landscaping. For some reason that big bald spot in the middle on the 2nd cam is driving me crazy.
