General Carowinds discussion

Does anybody know how close to the park we can get in the offseason before we are turned away by the police or somebody at the park? I have to take my daugther to college every weekend and I have to go by the park; I thought that maybe I could take a few picks each week to help keep things updated since the park will be closed in a few weeks.

Would this even be allowed?

Thanks!

I wouldn't venture too far past Avenue of the Carolinas - https://goo.gl/maps/VfDo0

With Cabela's and Carowinds both undergoing massive construction over the winter, the whole area is going to be a giant construction zone, and it would be smart to NOT insert yourself into places where you don't belong.

Also don't get out of your car and start walking around the parking lot or anything like that, that's just asking for trouble! Fury will be high enough by the time the park closes where you should be able to follow comfortably from the Comfort Inn parking lot. I really don't want to see anyone get in trouble for the sake of pictures.

Speaking of pictures, I'm sure Tawny71 won't mind me sharing this one from her Facebook...

Thanks for the info Jay, that's kinda what I figured just wanted to knows limits that's all. Your right by the time the park closes hopefully we will be able to see it even from 77.

I'm totally ok with that photo being shared, Jay! :)

I just had my phone with me, so no great photos today, but it was pretty awesome to see track in place! One thing that really struck me is how very close Fury is to Hurler. Looking down on it from Hurler, it looked like there was less than 30 feet between the two. Maybe I'm just not good at judging distance.

Nice find^^
Also, I have an idea...

They did say that there are a few 'surprises' that were not depicted within the animation video right? I know that one of the surprises will be for the new entrance, particularly the bridge (that's what I've heard so it is still rumored). Also, the turnaround on Fury 325...
I was just watching the flyover animation for the ride and the turnaround is completely capable of going upside down. Kind of like a zero-G- roll. Watch it for yourself and you might be able to see that it can be done. That is a possibility, but unlikely. It would be great though. Would it be the first giga coaster to go upside-down?

This element has a name on layout description of "91 degree high banked curve and weightless drop." Doubtful they would change that element with such a specific description.
