Well, the KD boys really have only themselves to blame for their disappointment. They let their wildest dreams take over until they all started accepting them as fact. I think we've done better here. While we dream about B&M's first giga coaster, we all firmly grasp the probability of Diamondback 2 and that is okay with us.

And that my friend is why you won't see as much if any complaining over here when ours gets announced. Most if not all of us are expecting a standard B&M hyper like Diamondback, not something over 300 feet tall and two miles long. However, most of the disappointment with KD's coaster was due to the fact that it might have OSTR's. You can't blame anybody for getting upset over that.

I dont see why everyone is moaning and groaning about Intimidator. It looks pretty fun, a combo of MF and Maverick, which are both pretty fun to me. Not B&M Hyper fun IMO but still a lot of fun. The only complaint I have would be the restraints, but cant knock it til you try it.

Anyways, I really doubt this will be a 300 footer by B&M. I can't imagine the cost for that to be $11 million, just doesnt add up. If we get diamondback or behemoth 2, i'm def ok with that.

has the possibility of 2 rides been completly ruled out? I dunno I can see them adding a flat ride and naming it White Lightning. I can totally vision a MaxAir type ride painted to look like a tire. Anyways, they bought naming rights for Intimidator, their gonna use it. I dont think they would pay for the rights to use on one coaster and my guess is they planned to use it on Carowinds coaster first and adapted KD's to the same. not naming this coaster the Intimidator in the heart of the nascar world would be stupid from a financial stand point. It just fits. BTW the morganton thing is still bothering me, I think carowinds may be getting something like a sky ride or something like that PRT thats at WVU. I see Cedar Fair dumping alot of money into carowinds as it is the only real theme park within a 5 hour driving distance of charlotte, which is a major city and lacks entertainment compared to other cities.

The cost of $11 million doesn't add up to anything good- including a Diamondback 2. I think the general consensus on that issue is that it cost $11 to build, not including materials/designs etc.

Also, there is this (that I posted on in the King's Dominion chat page):

Intimidator 305's website states that it is the BIGGEST and BADDEST steel coaster in the mid-atlantic and on the east coast. So unless our is 300' exactly, "GIGA" isn't happening. Not that it matters.

and at Carowinds, the tease has been "Lightning strikes twice!"......

and the Invite has the number 15 on it.. so...............

anybody want to bet the full name of the Carowinds HyperCoaster will be.....

also, why yellow supports for KD's ride, I dont think Dale Earhardt ever used yellow with the goodwrench car, he did with the Wrangler car he first drove though.

Here's hoping that there are 3 trains (old style at that)...

After I was looked back on my original drawing of the station / block break layout I'm even more convinced that the trains will be old style.

I don't think there is enough room to store 3 trains of the new style in there. Those trains are really long and the storage area/station set up doesn't look like it's long enough to store them.

While I agree that this won't be a giga, I disagree with your reasoning. There's a first time for everything. As has been stated before... there was a time when B&M didn't do dive coasters, flyers and inverts, you know.

Why 15? This is their 14th coaster. According to rcdb.com anyway.

KD counts Rebel Yell as two coasters for some reason. In the press release, it says 15th coaster.

I have 2 things to say:

First I think we can say this ride will probably have a model made for it by Coaster Dynamix.

And Second KD people should not complain it has OTSR, OTSR are amazing from Intamin and if they have a problem with getting in them, they need to lose weight or be quiet.

The weight of the person does not matter. I would rather have regular lap bars than OSTR's on every coaster out there, especially the looping ones; and I am only 135 pounds. I would imagine for most people its a 'freedom' thing. And you can't tell me some of those transitions at 70mph are going to be buttery smooth.

I think the west Virginia thing was figured out, if you look on the latest screamscape update one reader pointed out that its probably an inside joke amongst cedar fair executives, as one of them graduated and played football at west Virginia university, located in morgantown.

For those that have seen the metal container... Is it large enough to hold a race car? I think we will see one roll out of there during the press conference.
