Well the construction cost for this ride is 1.8 Million, or at least thats what Hendrick construction is getting. I assume thats only for the erection of the ride though. I'm sure no park gets the ride built for free, so that 2 million isn't from the construction.

Regarding security...

The security personnel I've encountered were nothing but polite and professional. Apparently others here that post pictures of construction, within park rules, have dealt with officers less civil, which is disappointing.

If someone was dumb enough to jump a fence, they should indeed be arrested. Especially when all you have to do is point your camera lens though a hole in the fence and press the zoom button.

And I don't even do that anymore. If you look at my recent posts, you'll notice I make sure to include some chain link in the frame to prove that the shot was taken from behind a fence. I've gone out of my way to help spread the word about restricted areas. Frankly, I don't know how more cooperative I can be.

Let me remind our security friends that I am a responsible 38 year old adult male who is married and well aware of the consequences of breaking the rules....

As far as getting pictures of track, which is in a restricted staging area, let the park handle that:

Ok, before the annoucement comes, Im gonna go ahead and say this. Im gonna set my standerds low and only expect 200 to 205 feet. That way if it is only barely over 200 feet I won't be let down too much.
I Really hope it is 230 or 240. But if not, Im not gonna complain too much. because for one thing, It is a brand new coaster at carowinds. Which we have waited for a long time. even though I really think that It will be at least the height of diamondback. I hope for more. I was told 240. but dont' know if that is true. I have heard all kinds of crazy things. alot of it is not true. so guess we will just have to wait and see.
Basicly Im saying we should be happy with what we get. and not get too picky about it. but still crossing fingers for 240. 8)

That number is mentioned here (the link below) and was also mentioned a few days ago on this message board.

The $11 million figure mentioned in the article is just for the construction of the coaster. It does not include design, coaster fabrication, etc. The total cost of this B&M hyper will probably be around $25 million.

I'm not worried about the price of the ride. That is not going to make it less fun if it was 20m. Heck , I think this ride will be great , and I haven't even seen it yet! I , me personally , have never been on a bad B&M. That's why I say the ride will be fun , no matter the price...

It doesn't but I know how tax incentives work. ;) Coaster fabrication is being done in Ohio. Therefore it's not included in tax incentives from South Carolina. Just by looking at the site and knowing that we're getting a B&M hyper, there's no way this coaster will only cost $11 million total. Don't worry about the cost though. Just be glad we're finally getting a new coaster and a good one at that. :)

I'm sure it will be a great ride. I'm just wondering if there is a ride with a total cost of $11 million that can fill the area they are currently building in. I guess i'm just being impatient. We'll all know for sure next wednesday! I can't wait!
