Wow that is so awkward, I was in the middle of writing a post that asked if anyone saw those wheels that looked like some sort of launch mechanism..... Anyways great pics, I wasnt able to get any yesterday because skytower was closed and I didnt go over in the parking lot or anything. Thanks for the update!

If you look at Vortex's track storage unite , it is the same , but shorter.

Look at the last picture on that link . Notice that there is a nascar tire there...

It is odd that tires would just be laying around near the track. I am starting to think that the person who took those pictures was an employee at Carowinds and happen to throw in those tires to hint at the NASCAR tie-in. It could be part of their viral marketing campaign. But i may be wrong.
