It's not out of the question for Intamin to ship something out of Germany. I know of companies in Charlotte that receive shipments from both Norfolk and Charleston, so Intamin is not out of the question. It is interesting to note that the container left Budapest on a truck empty, and 4 days later arrived in Bremerhaven by rail.

Something else to consider; if those parts are defected, they are not going to be shipped back overseas. They are 1) being taken somewhere nearby where they can be corrected or 2) they have been sold for scrap metal. Haven't you folk ordered a defected item and when it was replaced the company tells you to keep the defected part because it costs too much to send it back? I have ordered many replacement items for defected ones on my job and seldom do a company want the broken one back. And if they want it back, they will have to hire someone to come and get it.

No no no. The empty container originated in Hungary, made a stop somewhere between Budapest and Bremerhaven to pick up the supports, then was sent on to Bremerhaven by rail to be shipped to Norfolk where it was unloaded and trucked over to KD.

I get it now, thanks... I also know for a fact that both Schwarzkopf and Gerstlauer would fall right into that path.. They are both located in Southern-Central Germany (right in between Budapest and Bremerhaven).

I thought they were still in business, just not making coasters, and it's now managed by Anton's son after he died in 2001. (Anyways, I was just mentioning what coaster manufacturers has/had headquarters based in that path).

The crane is either owned or leased by the park & odds are that these were the wrong components otherwise they wouldn't have loaded them back up & shipped them out.

KD only recieved two truckloads worth of supports & when they unloaded them they realized the mistake in shipping & didn't take delivery of any further shipments.

But the pieces were loaded onto a truck, not back into the shipping containers. Correct?

It's possible that they just used KD as a place to transfer them to a truck. I know it's weird, but it could be since Norfolk isn't that far down the road from KD.

I would think they are just moving them on-site, but the fact that Clint said they headed for I-95 seems to dispel that option.

The pieces were unloaded out of and re-loaded into a shipping container attached to a truck. I don't see how the supports could possibly be shipped to the wrong park in the wrong country though. Wrong park maybe, but wrong country? Highly doubt it.

^Actually the pieces were loaded onto different shipping containers, but the same exact type - open top containers. They use a system of bars across the top with tarps over them to stack on cargo ships.
