Yes I know but the term world record breaking was used to describe the three year expansion not just the 2015 roller coaster.

With a vertical drop!

Hmm, you could be on the something. Dive coaster trains overhang the rails similar to Skyrush. Griffon is 205 with a 130 drop at 71mph. Of course, there is the pesty contract between B&M and Busch Gardens.

A 300ft Skyrush style coaster from Intamin would be a great idea, but I am starting to think a B&M coaster of some sort is more likely. They seem to have a contract based upon recent developments at the other Cedar Fair parks. We just need to hear of recent developments at the plant in Ohio or see some steel track coming down 77. But will probably be July or August before that happens.

What? They cant have multiple construction projects on going on.

When was the last time the park started on their next years addition this soon?? They haven't even started on this years addition! And please, show me this "pesty contract" that busch parks have. I'll believe that when I see that.

Matt929 wrote:I think dive coasters are very unlikely. Cedar fair does not own a ton a dive coaster and it really isn't their specialty. I'm not saying it is impossible but I would be surprised.

Cedar far didn't own a ton of rocket coasters but they still brought dragster, cedar fair didn't own a ton of giga coasters but they still brought intimidator 305, cedar fair didn't own a ton of floorless coasters but they still brought hydra, cedar fair didn't own a ton of motor bike launched coasters but they still brought pony express...you get the gist right? A dive coaster is just as likely as any coaster at this point.

Soooo....when they parks just so happen to start getting , I dunno...say, a few scattered mack coasters we can assume the "contract" is over? But what if they get a beemer the year after the macks? Is the contract renewed? I think this contract talk needs to just end without any solid factual truth!

redrunner97 wrote:Again, it's already been established that it WILL BE B&M if you believe the foreign news report regarding Carowinds and B&M working together in 2015...

It has not been establish it would be any thing other than a roller coaster and has the park even established that? So I can write anything in a news article, not quote a rep of the park or have the official blueprints, but still have my speculation stated as facts?

For real guys its nice to speculate and things but its hard to read "it won't be this or that because of (insert unproven myth, folklore or wives tale)" without and well, concrete reason. All we know for sure is some man went before a board begging for money who talked about a 300 ft coaster and used a picture of gatekeeper as a visual. He didn't take specifics, blueprints or renderings, nor did he say this is exactly what the park is building, but taller...

In the meantime I'm waiting on those contracts and exclusive deals to be proven fact...

I highly doubt any German news-site is going to perposefully mislead any readers from another country, and from what I understand it wasn't speculation it was from a B&M source? No?

Sure anyone can write up anything and post it, but don't be so pessimistic. Everyone isn't bopping around pretending to be journalists and make up stuff just to get a click on their fanpage.

Here's the Screamscape entry (I know, its Screamscape, but I'm talking about the part regarding the German website's news article.) Take into consideration the numbers and measurements are being roughly converted:

Screamscape wrote:2015/2016 - New Coaster - (1/7/14) According to a report posted at CoastersAndMore.de in German, the new B&M coaster on the way to Carowinds should stand over 90 meters (over 295 feet) in height and be at least 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) in length, as it crosses over from North to South Carolina and and back again during the run. And if I had to guess, I think there is a good chance it may fly over the park’s entrance plaza.
I’m hoping they got the stats a little wrong, as not only is the public expecting that it be at least 300 feet in height
minimum, it should be LONGER than Intimidator, which is listed as 5,316 feet, and not shorter. Stay tuned!

As far as the info we known from the Charlotte transcripts that broke the story, the German site corroborates the hight being over 300 feet (metric height stops at even periodicals, which accounts for the "over 290ft" rather than 300+, which it will most certainly be).

So your gonna pick and choose which items you want to believe from that site? If you believe its b&m based off the sites info then you HAVE to believe its less than 300ft and shorter than intimidator...

No ones being pessimistic, just being realistic and realize rumors and speculation often gets misconstrued as fact. I would like for it to be a beemer but as of right now, I have no idea what it is going to be. Trust me, a lot of parks put out false info to throw people off their trail...remover carowinds and the whole white lightnin fiasco a few years back...
