What does everyone think about "retheming" the Cyclone. I talked to the one of the area managers this summer about they cyclone and how neat it would be, if possible, to turn the trains backwards similar to the old Six Flags Joker's Jinx (now Jester at SFNO)? Any ideas on that. Some kind of paint, again, neater entrance?

I kind of like the Cyclone name. It fits in with the CB theming well.

I wouldn't mind them playing up on the ride's current theming though. Maybe they could stick some things in the roof of the station or put some debres(sp?) and stuff here and there, similar to Tennessee Tornado's Theming(CLICK HERE) at Dollywood.

I like the idea of one of the trains being turned around backwards. That would be really fun!

I agree on your idea of the Tennessee Tornado theming. I was hoping they would of spruced up the Cyclone with Carolina Boardwalk, but that obviously didn't happen. As for turning the trains backwards... ouch.

i dont know if this qualifies me as a theme park dork but............i think they need to change the track color on the sign......it still sports one of the lighter shades of blue from like several paint jobs ago.......

BTW how many times has the cyclone been painted

I think that "Cyclone" is a fitting name for that roller coaster and we've always known it by that name and only that name. The theming (or lack thereof), however, could use a facelift. In my opinion, the entrance sign is ugly. The colors of the track and supports are nice. The trains could benefit from a color change. The queue lines would definitely benefit from a little theming, not an all out theming ala Batman:The Ride, but just a little something here and there. If you think about it, you couldn't really go all out with the theming of this ride even if you wanted to. Then again, I could be wrong.

I would rather them spend the dough on retheming the Goldrusher.

From what I have seen, the old pictures in the operations building in one of the offices, the Cyclone was red, then it was painted that turquoise color, and now navy. So three? Cleaning that ride up is definatly on the bottom of the list, I love to ride, especially in sleet, lol.

That turqoise color really was more of an army green color. I think it looks best the way it is now.

It wasn't red very long--maybe the first few seasons it was open. I would link the pic, but it is hanging in the office of operatations. I dont know any other way of showing it.

Actually the Cyclone has been painted at least 4 different colors over time. It was red originally, then later green, then turquoise, and now puke purple.

I've seen the old pictures of the red track and black supports, I rode it when the track was light blue, and now its purple. I have never heard that the cyclone was green, are you sure that fact is correct?

Oh, and I know the guy whos construction company poured the footers on top gun, should I give him a call?
