I would think that construction at the north gate would not begin until the 2014-2015 offseason. One could only imagine how crowded the south gate would become if it was the only available entrance for guests.

Length will depend on the type of coaster and manufacturer. The coaster is supposed to cost between $30-33 million so it's definitely gonna be big. Assuming that it's a normal giga with just a lift, air-time hills, and turnarounds, then an Intamin giga could be VERY long. Millenium Force is around 6,500 feet, and it cost $25 million in 2000. If Millenium Force was built today, it would cost about $34 million, so if Intamin builds our coaster, it could be as long as 6,000 feet. However, since Cedar Fair hasn't worked with Intamin in a while, it's probably going to be built by B&M. If B&M builds it, it will not be as long. Leviathan cost $28 million (28.5 if it were built now) and it's about 5,500 feet, so if B&M builds it, it will probably be about the same length as Leviathan or a couple hundred feet longer. However, there's still a small chance that the ride could have an inversion or a launch. Inversions and launches would cost more, leaving less room for length. I guess we won't really know how long the ride will be until it's annouced

I see it wind up being $35-37 million when its all said and done. People on here love to cling to the facts they want to hear but refute the same rumors along with their "facts". They're the experts for a reason though. I give respect but still see the Kip Winger written all over the place.

A company in Libertyville, Illinois already has the name and I'm pretty sure that's why the Centurion trademark was postponed. Unless the company gives up their trademark or allows Cedar Fair to use it, there won't be a ride named Centurion going to any park.

Cedar Fair can use the name Centurion for an amusement device (roller coaster, flat ride, etc) as long as the compny in IL isn't using it for an amusement device. Seeing as that company is a store supply company it won't be an issue. Just more paperwork... and time.

I'm figuring that Cedar Fair went to trademark Centurion and the trademark office found other cases where it was used and suspended the Cedar Fair name until an investigation could be completed. Since the investigation might take longer than Cedar Fair has before they make an announcement, Cedar Fair prolly went back and decided to use the already registered name Fury, but add the 325 to it and then trademark the new name Fury 325.

Sounds like ours was suppose to be called Centurion but the trademark office got involved so Cedar Fair had to go with the Fury 325 as a backup. If they add something big to a park in 2016 (Knott's maybe) they will prolly use the Centution name on that since the trademark paperwork will surely be cleared up by then.

Does anyone know who the contractor and construction company was for intimidator?

I would assume that the construction co. for building a coaster is selected the same way as building a building. They select the one with the lowest bid or the one that gives them the best bang for their buck.

For those of you around here in 2009, the park "leaked" White Lightning Strikes Back or something like that as the new ride name. Of course it wasn't.

But consider there is white B&M track at the plant, could they possibly be doing White Lightning 2.0 now?

I would absolutely LOVE to have them bring back the White Lightnin' name for our new coaster. Hey, they brought back the name Harmony Hall so maybe they are looking to revive past names. I'd also like to see Witch Doctor, Flying Dutchman and the Surfer names brought back.
