I can not see where the road is being being moved. Look here: http://polaris3g.mecklenburgcountync.gov/#mat=485506&pid=20315208&gisid=20315208 and make sure to turn on Ariel in the upper Right. This map goes from 2010 to 2016 and the only difference in roads I can see is the new toll booth.

So it seems the powers that may be have "heard" us and have basically made good on almost everything that was "wrong" with carowinds, right. A bigger and better water park, almost doubling the flat ride collection, a world class coaster and winterfest. I wonder what more they could possibly do? Its been said that the entire park is going to be transformed from the top to the bottom and I guess they were not playing.

And that is what I find the saddest. Adding 4 flat rides nearly doubles the size of their collection. :(

Sorry Arby, I could not help myself from laughing pretty hard when I read what you wrote. It is soo true though. We could use a few more 4 flats per year to get on par with other parks as we have yet to get any flats that are new. I Love what we are getting, and so will the GP.

Are these all considered flat rides?

Scrambler, Scream Weaver, Drop Tower, Dodgems, Southern Star, Yo-Yo, Windseeker, Woodstock Gliders, and Peanuts Pirates? If so, that's 9. I don't know if all those count or if you can add any of the smaller Planet Snoopy rides to that. Whatever the "flat" count, adding 4 won't hurt!

I personally don't count drop towers and bumper cars and a lot of folks don't consider anything in planet snoopy for adults as a lot don't even venture over there. I don't see any adults on those two unless it's "us" lol.

Just noting that part of the area where the road is being rerouted through is not owned by Carowinds or Cedar Fair according to this website. That said it could another exit route Carowinds is working on. The state could have taken enmeint domain, Carowinds could have asked for an encroachment of it could be a number of companies doing this. The rerouted road crosses through three different property owners including Carowinds.

Yeah, there were a few people on here recently that weren't even aware of Peanut's Pirates. While it is a good flat ride its location is not ideal. Especially since Planet Snoopy is not open all the time when the park is (like during SCarowinds). With the crowds at SCarowinds, they need all their flats operating.

No worries, MarkD. Glad I made you laugh! I also don't count drop towers and bumper cars so that leaves 7 existing flats with only five of those being open the entire operating season.

Great find on that Aerial view! It reveals a lot more than has been discussed to this point. I do take back my dream of expanding into the woods based on this. Guess I don't need to head to General Dr tomorrow like I was planning. ;)

Yea, I guess I'm still clueless about moving a road? Maybe someone could crayon on a map what they are talking about. I see the area that has been cleared but with it going through 3 different land owners there must have been one heck of a handshake for Carowinds to construct it.

Or, is that where the power lines are? 'Tis real close to the cabins.

That looks almost Carolina Blue. Good work! Maybe if/when Vortex gets converted it will get a cool paint job like that and a cool theme to go with it!

Blue is my favorite color, but after Cobra gets that repaint, the last thing we're going to need is ANOTHER blue coaster. I'd rather see some variant of purple, or at least something more unique.
