From http://www.carowinds.com
"SCarowinds will be closed on Friday night, October 7
For the safety of our guests and associates, Carowinds will be closed for SCarowinds on Friday night, October 7 due to the threat of inclement weather. As a convenience to our guests, any tickets originally purchased for this evening will be extended for use through Sunday, Oct. 23.

The associate orientation scheduled for 9am on Saturday, October 8 will still be held as originally scheduled."

The park is also closed today.

I can't see the picture for some reason, but if you're referring to the new small tower next to nighthawk, it's just a Verizon tower.

10 of the Best Amusement Parks in the U.S.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/taylor-bybee/10-of-the-best-amusement_b_12407450.html

"So based off of my travels, I’ve compiled a list of 10 of my favorite parks across the United States. Now I haven’t been able to make it every where, so obviously not every park is going to get a mention, but I am a huge fan of all of the parks listed below, and I think they’re absolutely worth a visit.

#10 Holiday World
#9 Knott's Berry Farm
#8 SF Great Adventure
#7 Kings Island
#6 SF Magic Mountain
#5 SF Fiesta Texas
#4 Carowinds
What makes this park so special? Well, those who venture out to Charlotte, North Carolina, will notice how the park sits on the state line. That’s right, the parks entrance sits on both North Carolina and South Carolina. As a result, many of the coasters here reside in two states. One of these, Fury 325, was just recently voted the Best Roller Coaster in the World in the Golden Ticket Awards.

So if Fury wasn’t enough to make you want to visit, what’s great about this park is how they embrace Carowinds as the place where the Carolina’s come together. Because of this, much of the food offered here are Carolina classics- such as great barbecue. Also available is one of the best water parks around, called Carolina Harbor, which just recently underwent upgrades.

#3 Dollywood
#2 Hersheypark
#1 Cedar Point"

SeaWorld...
They forgot:
Silver Springs Florida
Santas Land in Cherokee, NC
And those are only parks I have been to that are My worst. I know it has been 20 years since I went to SeaWorld but the park has shifted to more Rides focused than they were. I don't even remember any rides(I know Skytower was there, but I only think I remember riding it.)

^Silver Springs is a State Park now. All the amusements and animals have been removed. All that's left really are the glass bottom boats. It's more of a nature park now. I would agree that the state it was in when I visited just before switching over would qualify it as one of the worst I've been to. It wasn't completely horrendous, but definitely hadn't been looked after as it should have been. Many parts just seemed neglected. I did see potential in making it great, but guess the funds weren't there. I enjoyed the bears, glass-bottom boats, jeep ride and the alligators. The other rides were not operating.

As far as SeaWorld being included on the list is just them drinking the Kool-Aid IMO.

This may be a dumb question, but this is my first year with a season pass in a long time. I know you can't enter that park twice in the same day with the pass, but can you leave the park, and then enter for Scarowinds later in the same day with the same pass? Thanks for the help!

Yes, I have done this several times.Just remember that unlike Carowinds where you can leave and get your hand stamped for re-entry, Scarowinds does not allow this. If you leave during Scarowinds, you can not get back in even with a season pass unless you buy a ticket. I only know this because we went to Scarowinds and forgot our refillable cups in the car. I tried to go back out and get them and I was informed of this.
