Yes, wood gets replaced similar to a wooden coaster. The catwalks have been replaced before also.

I would be surprised to see it go anywhere. While I see some new wood on it nearly every season, I can't imagine that it requires more than average maintenance.

Goldrusher updated its braking system in the late 90's. I wish I could remember the exact year. I did a story on it for ACE News. It could've been early 2000's. Other than that, it gets the basic TLC that any coaster would get. I see new wood scattered about on it just about every year.

I personally don't see the park removing it anytime soon. It is still immensely popular with families. I do wish they would reinvent the ride some. Maybe add some strobes or something in the last tunnel.

Personally, I wish they hadn't revamped the trains with the new safety protocols. It makes the queue lines SO SLOW because of how long it takes to board. There's no way they can run more than 2 trains anymore. Did they have any safety issues before? I was thinking the change was just to CTA (Cover Their @...).

Whatever happened to the push to enclose the entire ride? I think that was late 1980's that was being talked about. I think enclosing the second half of the ride (from the helix tunnel until the end) would be cool. I wouldn't want it to be pitch dark and scary (that would hurt the family draw) but add LED's and such to make it fun.

I say give Goldrusher a Timber Mountain (Knotts) redo and theme it to Gold Mining instead of Lumberjacks to keep it related to mining in the Piedmont. I know TM is a log flume but if CF enclosed Gold Rusher and let Garner Holt Productions refurbish it featuring their animatronics, it would be a bit more enjoyable visually.
IIRC it only took CF five months to refurb Timber Mountain, so if they made an attempt to refurb CG, they would more than likely have to close it right after Scarowinds to have it ready by opening day the following year. Just a thought!

ERT Schedule is out now, I'm just wondering what rides in Planet Snoopy it will include.

Season Pass Info,

I'm ordering 3 season passes on Friday online.

Can I pay them all at once instead of payment plan?

When these are bought online what is the process? Do we order then go to Carowinds to get photo taken and what not?

Yes you can pay all at once if you want to. You can select to have your picture taken at the park or upload a picture if you want. Be sure to select the "Print at Home" delivery method. Then print out your stuff and just take them to the park. You can use them to park also. Once at the park, take your print outs to the Season Pass Processing center. They will take your picture there.
