The hamburgers at sharkys are terrible this year!! They taste like rubber! We loved them last year. I was very impressed by the lifeguards at the water park last week. They were incredibly attentive and on top of things!

Word on the street is that Bloodyard and Defex may not be returning for Scarowinds this year.

Also anybody noticed the Rainmaker show has been removed from the line up.

Hey everyone, just looked at the webcams and it looks as if the park is closed. No rides running and it's only 8:51pm. Do they close early if there are no park patrons?

First year season pass holders. (Question)

What time do we get into the waterpark, as we get early entry, and where can we enter at? Enter at any waterpark entrance, or do they have a specific one?

Intimidator got stuck today y'all...

Roller Coaster at Carowinds reportedly stalls mid-ride
Several witnesses have told NBC Charlotte that a popular roller coaster in the Carowinds amusement park was stuck for nearly 30 minutes.

The roller coaster, the Intimidator, required on-scene assistance and was reportedly shut down following the ordeal.

Carowinds crews reportedly had to come open the lap belts manually and let the stranded riders off down a set of maintenance stairs.

No injuries were reported, and officials have not released any information as to the cause of the shut down at this point.

Could the Intimidator stall be because the train in front hadn't cleared the block so it stopped? If so, that would be operator error since there is plenty of time to bring one train into the station and let the next train clear the block in the brake run before the train on course gets there. Of course there could be a problem with a sensor or something else.

I love the wording in this article. Words like "ordeal" and "stranded riders" really convey a sense of safety, and the "no injuries were reported" part doesn't make it look like the park is covering up anything at all.

[EDIT] Never mind, it reopened.

Visited the park for the first time this year, here's what I rode:

Intimidator, 2x: Man, last year this thing was flying. The airtime was abundant and the ride zipped through the course. Today, it seemed to lag a little and the trims hit hard. Still fun, but I may have to re-evaluate my top 20.

Fury325, 3x: Great as always. The airtime didn't seem as strong on this either but it was still plenty of fun. However, on my third ride (2nd row, right side), there was a nasty rattle.

Drop Tower: It never fails to scare the living **** out of me, still awesome.

Rock 'N' Roller: First time ever riding a music express, it was very enjoyable! The laterals were stronger than I thought they'd be. It was very reminiscent of Peanuts Pirates, but that's a given considering it had the same manufacturer. My second favorite ride in the county fair.

Do-Si-Do: This was my first troika, and I gotta be honest, it was a bit of a snooze. Not bad, but not anything to write home about.

Zephyr: It was a swing ride. Meh.

Electrospin, 2x: Ah, the headlining attraction for the new area. My first ride, I thought it was pretty fun albeit not as intense as I was expecting. My second ride was insane. I think this might be my fourth or fifth favorite ride in the park, and it's insanely re-rideable.

Windseeker: Always a relaxing ride with great views and good music.

Afterburn: It's still my second favorite coaster in the park, and still firmly within my top five.

Overall I had a great time, and the park now has two extra attractions that I'll make an attempt to ride every time I visit the park.

In other news, the pool for Whitewater Falls has yet to be drained, so whatever they're putting their in the future, they aren't in a rush to get it built any time soon. I would expect a Vortex conversion and a few more Planet Snoopy attractions for next year.
