General Carowinds discussion

What is the early entry policy? I'm from Ohio & at CP, it's an hour prior to general public with a standard line-up of popular rides. @ KI, it's only half hour and rides change each day. I'm heading into area from Ohio in June(first time)and hope to utilize my plat. pass. I'm not seeing updated info on website-so hence my questions. I'm also looking for local/semi-local accommodations that are economical, preferably on 77S. I can't wait to visit & try FURY and some of the other great attractions! It's an impromptu & quick trip and needs to be cheap, as my travels will keep me driving south to FL.

Hey broomie33,

For 2016, FURY 325 and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare were the featured attractions on the Exclusive Ride Time Schedule. It was 30 minutes prior to park opening but only on certain dates.
IIRC last year, the first two weeks of June were "weekends only" for ERT and then everyday ERT after Sat June 11th for the rest of the month. Here is the .pdf from last year....https://www.carowinds.com/images/upload ... 0Guide.pdf

You will more than likely have to wait until they release the 2017 SP benefits calendar to see the exact dates and which rides will be ERT but I am unaware of when that will be. As for the hotels, your Platinum Pass saves you 10% at Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort, but if it's a hotel your looking for there are plenty of affordable accommodations not far from the park....link

Also, you can check out the 2017 food offerings in the link below in case you want to do a dining plan for the day. Most folks are of the opinion that Harmony Hall is hands down some of the best food in the park and has roughly 16 meal options on the all day plan.

Hope this info helps you and heres wishing you a GREAT time on your short visit to Charlotte. Safe travels

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm sure the trip will be great! It's weird how the parks have different(if any) times/line-ups for morning early entry. The area is half-way point for my final destination, so revisit could be possible on return to Ohio as well.
