General Carowinds discussion

I bet Intimidator is going to gets lockers for 2019 along with the new coaster, just like we saw with I305/FoF/Twisted Timbers. The movable locker program started at Cedar Point this year so I’m sure we’ll see that extended to some other parks as well that are beefing up on lockers.

Lots of bricks under Fury's lift as well. Twisted Timbers had a massively redone area with a ton of pavers. I would very much enjoy that if it were to happen here!

Also next to Fury's drop is a big shed looking thing? Looks like it might be for Scarowinds because the ends are on shipping containers.

(screenshoted from the parks snapchat so its legal ;) )

I noticed today that the merch was gone at intimidator, hardly ever go ride it so that was the first time I saw the merchandise gone, I think it was there early this season? Most of the time I dont go through the shop when I get off, so I dont remember. I guess that means a new name next year?

The pavers under fury have been there for a while... Not sure if there is more there now or not though. I missed whatever they are building on top of those containers under fury, but someone did point it out earlier today! Interesting... I would agree its likely for Scarowinds. Didnt even notice the tarps under intimidator either great find!

Here is a picture of the pavers on the ground, from April 21st and the diabetes walk...

What writing?

It's a metaphor meaning that what's coming is incredibly obvious, and has been for nearly two months. Anyone expecting a multi-year tease with a GCI or RMC Hurler following immediately after is going to be very disappointed.

What was shown that totally destroys the fact that there might be a multi-year tease? Not everyone is a hyper intelligent human being like you.

Nothing "destroys the fact", as you can't disprove a negative statement. But nothing supports the "fact" either. There are references to other coasters at other parks, yes, but that does not automatically signify that Carowinds is teasing two attractions at once. Nothing in the teasers suggests that, there aren't markings around the park other than the construction site, and this isn't the first time Carowinds has ever done a misdirection teaser (Centurion).

Y'all are looking at things that are not there. We've had a mountain of evidence for this coaster since May. Nothing about the teasers changes that.

Why on Earth would there be markings or Flags or stakes in the ground or painted on pavement project that's a year away from even beginning construction for 2020 opening?

you either don't understand the construction process or are offering a straw man argument (there's no construction currently in a second location, therefore there's nothing that will be announced in August of 2018 for opening in 2020) to just prove and make yourself look more knowledgeable then perhaps you may really be about exactly what will and will not be announced in august.

maybe you're right but maybe one of these other predictions is right we'll find out in a couple months. it seems like you're trying to convince everyone you are right and they are wrong instead of just letting everyone enjoy the teasing speculation.

the argument that goes against your conclusion is that it's widely reported that dinosaurs will be going away after 2019 season ( other Theme Park websites stating they all presumably had six year leases on dinos, and Carowinds expires after 2019 season) and then a large plot of land will be available if/when they actually do leave. Combining that with the fact that the only other hurler just got RMC treatment and has been popular give us a reasonably high confidence rate that Carowinds hurler will be converted sooner rather than later.

Combined with the special attention Carowinds seems to be getting with in Cedar Fair as highly favored status allows me to enjoy a reasonably decent chance we may hear about a couple years worth of projects in August as an unusual move, what might fit in with their emphasis on maxing out what their vision is for Carowinds

If you choose to believe otherwise that's fine. Whichever is wrong it's not a big deal. Theres no prize for being right dude.

So it's obviously a Mack Coaster from the proof of the fenced in area in the South Gate parking lot. They are only talking about 1 attraction. However, keep in mind that the Gliders are returning as well. Also, the Hurler is operating fine the way it is. I can honestly only see GCI coming in to reprofile like they did with the first turn. It doesn't need to be RMC'd. In 2020, we should get a Mat Racer slide and a floorless Vortex conversion and rename it, "Wild Bull."

I think it's a great idea to install locker in Intimidators gift shop in 2019. You all already know this new ride will have lockers as well. So to be honest, all the fast lane coasters should have lockers. Fury, Intimidator, definitely Nighthawk, and the New Coaster. Although we have other big coasters, they are fine with the traditional bins.

In my opinion the park should just get rid of vortex or sell it. It’s too short of a ride and by the time the train gets back to the brakes the people are just finishing getting off the train in front of them. In my opinion carousel park needs something good to it besides the stuff that’s already there. I was there yeasterday and they used the old ugly yellow benches that were in planet snoopy last year and let me tell you it makes the area look ugly they could have atleast repainted them. In my opinion I think they should replace vortex with a gerstlauer coaster something that can be very compact to fit in the area.
