Does anyone know what happened to the monorail? Was it sold to someone else, still in use, scrapped, or some guy buy it to ride it on a whim?

When the monorail was dismantled, Paramount posted a statement saying it had been sold to the Mexican resort city of Acapulco. Not sure if it ever made it or if it ended up being scrapped. It would be nice to see it running in it's new home, like White Lightnin' is over in South Africa.

That would be cool to ride the same ride in 2 different countries. LOL

In this day of "green", just how far ahead of their time was the Monorail? I mean, it runs on electricity, no green house gases, and quiet operation. Too bad the resort wasn't ever built so that the monorail would have had more of a purpose.

The Powder Keg Flume. As we go down memory lane... anybody else remember the "colonial" costumes the ride attendants on the flume used to wear? I'd love to see a picture of those! You know -- when the theme park had "themes."

Look in the bottom of the picture! It's Icky from Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion! (Or whatever that little monster is with the red glowing eyes is called) I didn't know he was original to the park too!

When is was way younger probably in the age group of 2-5, I used to be terrified of the water logs only because my sisters use to tell me people would fall out because nothing held you in and I would never ride them until I was like maybe 6 or 7. They also told me a woman fell out of Frenzoid so I was scared of it for the longest time. Was that ever true though?

Here's a little Flume pearl of knowledge for you... as you see in the older photos, the Flume trough was white. Around the year 2000 an attempt was made to fix some of those infamous flume leaks, but they needed something a little better than regular fiberglass paint. So they Rhino-lined (the protectant sprayed in pickup truck beds) the trough. The first application didn't stick so well, and it ended up peeling and interfering with the boats, but after a few more applications, it worked just fine- though I'm not sure it stopped too many leaks.

I think that was the same year the trough was painted brown. Does anybody have any photos of the flume with the brown trough? Personally, I thought it was hideous, but it only lasted several seasons until they replaced it with the glorious turquoise we've come to associate with these Arrow flumes.
