Nope. Vortex was built before the monorail left.

Please explain, I remember the monorail station and the speedway cars down below, as well as maybe some arcade games. Been a while. That may not be the same structure as the monorail, but is in the same place. They couldn't put Vortex there with the cars, and they shared the station with the Monorail. Or was Vortex built behind the monorail, and later torn down. I thought they used part of the Monorail station for Vortex as they were both elevated.

The monorail station did have games under it. The speedway cars also had it's station on ground level behind of the monorail station. The Vortex station was build behind the monorail station. Not sure if anyone remebers this but the cameras for the Vortex on-ride photo use to be attached to the monorail track.

Seems that a new colar has sprung up at the Fab Shop in Ohio. Seems it is Red. There is now Red Track keeping the Yellow Track company at the Plant in Ohio. You can look around and find pics of it on TPR. I might try to stop by this friday on my my to King's Island since work takes me to that area.

only a few feet away from the flume... but I really don't care... new steel is new steel no matter how it's painted.

^^ Yeah, it is. Cyclone was red before Vortex arrived, but those are the only ones that come to mind that have ever been predominantly red at the park.

Yellow is everywhere, though - Saturator, Ricochet, Nighthawk, Reptar, Taxi Jam, Scream Weaver (not a coaster but very yellow).

Two Vekomas co-exist next to each other with yellow track, so I see no problem with multiple red B&Ms. Vortex is kinda around the corner, anyway.

The plot does indeed thicken. With CF building them at KI and CW, and then the flume being torn down, a hyper seemed a reasonable proposition for Carowinds. Now we know that there's a Beemer hyper going somewhere in the next year or so, and I haven't heard any other likely candidates to date. Time will tell, of course, but things are looking good.

This will kill off many of our in-jokes, though - Carowinds never getting anything big, never getting anything except used Vekomas, and of course the long-running hyper-under-the-bridge. But I can certainly live with that :D
