KenB wrote:^^ Yeah, it is. Cyclone was red before Vortex arrived, but those are the only ones that come to mind that have ever been predominantly red at the park.

Yellow is everywhere, though - Saturator, Ricochet, Nighthawk, Reptar, Taxi Jam, Scream Weaver (not a coaster but very yellow).

Two Vekomas co-exist next to each other with yellow track, so I see no problem with multiple red B&Ms. Vortex is kinda around the corner, anyway.

The plot does indeed thicken. With CF building them at KI and CW, and then the flume being torn down, a hyper seemed a reasonable proposition for Carowinds. Now we know that there's a Beemer hyper going somewhere in the next year or so, and I haven't heard any other likely candidates to date. Time will tell, of course, but things are looking good.

This will kill off many of our in-jokes, though - Carowinds never getting anything big, never getting anything except used Vekomas, and of course the long-running hyper-under-the-bridge. But I can certainly live with that :D

I think the helicopter ride in Nick Central is also red.. anyway

hey it looks like someone might have to change their screen name....

As for the yellow and red track pieces at the B & M plant, one is ours and the other is probably for Magic Mountain, hyper for us(on the same basic plan as Behemoth & Diamondback), dive machine(or new concept design) for Magic Mountain... you know Magic wants to challenge CP for the most coasters, another one is supposedly ordered for 2010... which would equal the parks in terms of coasters, but give MM a record total of 5 B & M's...in my opinion tipping the scales slightly in MM's favor.

Back to topic, we ought to see further ground work before long where the logs were, and then supports. When I visited KI in early June last year, the concrete supports were everywhere and the splash pond was built as well ~ we should be seeing some activity... soon... watch for permits...

 I have a feeling it may be the red one. The order sticker on the red track says the costomer is X-works. so I googled and found out that the name X works coresponds a lot with automotive thaings, especially nascar. and since carowinds is located in the south where nascar is most common, I ws thinking they may be theaming it around car racing. (which CF has done in the past, Top thrill dragster)

This is just an idea i had, those costomer names may just be made up and don't mean a thing, I don't know.

^^^ Sure about that? I thought X-Works is for the yellow track, and the red track is Customer MCJ09. (props to TPR).

But that wouldn't be the first NASCAR rumor I've heard.

And I posted this back in July:
On a positive note, I'm wondering if CF is planning to install a shiny new hyper to coincide with the Nascar Hall of Fame opening in 2010. Not that I'm a Nascar fan, but the HOF should draw more than the usual batch of regional tourists to Charlotte, and CF might be actually motivated to get a piece of that action.

They better.

Starting to get creeped out a little.

Nascar would be a good theme for the area as long as it is not themed to a specific team. I'm not sure if it will happen since they would have to pay Nascar for rights. Of course they could do something generic and not use the brand, but we already have that in ThunderRoad. I'm also wondering this...If B&M is building two coasters, why would they store all pieces together on their lot. That seems confusing when you have to go back and separate for delivery? :?: Also, how could they fabricate two coasters at once? In industries unless you have multiple lines, you have to complete one and re set the equipment for another style. It's clear that B&M track differ for the various coaster types. Of course who is to say that the yellow coaster is not done and they are beginning the red one.

Well i don't think they would get too confused since one is red and the other is yellow. And I was also thinking about making 2 at once, and like you said, they would have to reset all of their equipment for another style, but if both rides are hypers, then they would have similar track peices that they would need to manufacture all at once.

^^^And by the way your right wormy, it was the yellow one thatwas for X works, so if correct that would be another yellow coaster at carowinds.
