General Carowinds discussion

I think if it is going to be a raging bull- like twister, they would have already bulldozed the picnic shelters and trees.

I dunno, I know part will be in the parking lot but if too much of the coaster is outside of the park it would be weird. And Carowinds doesn't have any long coasters so im kinda worried.

New member here, but I have been following this site for quite some time. In my opinion, there is no way that a hyper could fit in that area, it just doesn't seem possible. The site is not that large and hypers take up A LOT of room. I see a much smaller coaster there even though I would love to see a hyper at Carowinds.

There are a lot of coasters that go out into the parking lot, if not just built entirely over the parking lot. Six Flags has been notorious for doing that over the past decade. The best example of a B&M hyper that goes over the parking lot would be Silver Star.

I too used to work at the park (granted, probably WAY before you did) and I don't know what relevance that has here.

I don't think you are grasping this. I'll give you an example. If the park wanted to expand one thing they could do is convert all the parking next to Thunder Road into park space and then pave an additional section of field they have next to the parking lot and Plaza Fiesta if they felt it necessary. That area next to Thunder Road would have access via County Fair and the water park. That's just one idea. I am sure there are multiple ideas for expansion. I'll give another - the parking lots rarely used by buses behind the Paladium that back up to the Sky Flyer. That land could be park expansion as well. There is plenty of undeveloped land that Carowinds could use. To give you a visual idea of what I am talking about here is an image:

Red polygons are possible park expansion
Blue polygons are possible parking expansion

As parking expansion? They already use the areas highlighted in blue for overflow parking during large events (with the exception of the area near the parking toll booth), why would it be highly unlikely that this could be paved as future parking lots?

Im blonde today! No, I thought you meant rides bc I skimmed over the article :) As a matter of fact that would have been the smarter place to put the parking from the beginning.
