General Carowinds discussion

They could easily turn the fenced in part of the parking lot into landscaped park, which I hope they do. Carowinds doesn't need any Six Flags Parking Lot Coasters.

I'm excited. There is plenty of room for something amazing there.

Dunno What, just know they're losing something large. Sorry that I wasn't more specific, no, the park isn't closing. Too many interested parties. And it wouldn't be sold to land developers either, heck the park isn't in an area that could really hold anything else, too many hills.

But people that know keep on mentioning that something is leaving, just not what is leaving. Which sucks, you'd think they could put something big in Drachen Fire's old spot.

 I miss that coaster! Have they not put anything back there? You'd think they would have put something back there. I haven't been up there in some time, DF was in it's first or 2nd season last time I made it up there.

Hey Jammin, looks like that pile of stuff you didn't know what was is the old Railroad ties. Either they replaced a bunch, or shortened the train and those were the extras. Nice pic's nontheless.

I couldn't help but do a birds-eye view of my layout in combination with the satellite photo provided. I will eventually update this as things go along.

I put both the birds eye pict and My layout on one page so we can backtrack less.

As you can see, there are some variables coming into play:
1. Theres a lot of room fenced off near the "new gate" they built, Perhaps this is a helix.
2. I am not that familiar with the kids section of the park, but There looks like a stage. So thats something to think about in terms of noise.
3. The Shape of the dirt moving is still unclear.
4. The Train is returning, so that will also affect where supports are placed

Yes I thought to myself that they looked like railroad ties, but surely they were far too big for Dora?

But looking at them back to back its pretty obvious that they are indeed ties.

I was just looking at B&M's website and checking out their Hyper Coasters.

I'm not sure which coaster this is (I'm sure someone on here knows, though). I was looking at it and realized something. That layout would fit perfect where they've fenced off everything.

Wait... is that in Montreal? I think I see Olympic Stadium in the background?

EDIT: Is it Goliath at La Ronde?

Could be behemoth. That is one nice coaster.

This is just me thinkin here, but why would they put the train track back if some work wasnt being done in that space... being under those trees, they can sort of hide it..
I already thought it was fake, still do. Nolez is right about the topography if u read earlier. Besides, I thought the trees are gone from around Dora?

I have come to the conclusion that it is in fact Goliath at La Ronde. I can see Olympic Stadium in the background and the coaster is the same colors as Goliath. One thing, though. Goliath is not a hyper (it's only 174 feet) so why is there a picture of it on B&M's hyper page?

Another view of Goliath from rcdb.com...

That layout would fit perfect in the space they fenced off. I just hope we can break the 200 foot limit. Goliath is only 174 feet.

Yeah, an over 200 footer compared to the less than 150 footers would completely shrink every coaster in the park, and make a mighty nice skyline too.

It might even reduce the line for BorgHawk. Ah, who am I kidding? People will still wait over an hour to ride it.
