My gut is that they wouldn't fence off something that bulges out in a few places like it does for no reason. I agree that there must be some sort of turn, helix etc out there. They'll make it attractive whatever they build, and you'll see it from far away since they're sticking it out front.

^^Agree totally.

If they can tie the new coaster(if it is what we think and where) in with the existing park and landscape it, people would never know that it used to be the parking lot(except for us that visit alot).

They should build the entire ride in the parking lot and charge extra to ride it. You wouldn't even have to enter the park to ride it. They could just charge you to park your vehicle and then sell tickets at the station -- no park admission required. Think of all the money they could make when the park was closed by renting out the coaster for birthday parties and other events.

<end sarcasm>

ok Im new to this site but ive been on it before. I live by KD and am following their new coaster and Carowinds. Screamscape reported a survey crew was spotted behind anaconda making orange marks. Has anyone seen a survey crew at carowinds?

There is no doubt that something is happening at Dominion, but the question is what? All we know from those posted papers is that some kind of grading/road bed relocation....... is going to occur. In that case you would expect the area to be surveyed. Unlike at Carowinds, there has not been much indication that a coaster is coming in anything soon. On the other hand Carowinds officials have already started with the tease signs on the fence. We won't even mention the well documented demolition and now land prep.

^^^ That is the kind of example I was looking for, and what Carowinds better NOT set out to duplicate. I know there is other pics like that of other coasters, just not sure what they are. Good find.

To my knowledge Cedar Fair has never installed a ride where they pull that nonsense where they don't even tear up the asphalt or paint over the lines. In fact, I can't think of anyone ever doing that outside of Six Flags, so I don't think it's something to worry about too much.

I'm going to SFMM on Monday June 15th. I'm going to have to check out "Scream". Looks very cool even though it is over the Parking Lot. Also, can't wait to ride Terminator. I'll be at Carowinds tomorrow. Will look for anything new.

my dad works with a guy whos son works at carowinds and he said the new coaster is a B&M hyper PROTOTYPE coaster. its supposedly going to be in the top 10 list for longest coasters in the world and it will be similar in layout to Apollos Chariot at BGW... he also said it's going to have a ..... launch mechanism instead of a chain lift?which i dont believe entirely but it could be part of the prototype thing (B&M's first launch coaster) so i guess we'll see what happens ??

I'll believe it when I see it. My cousin's best friend's girlfriend's father's uncle works at Carowinds and said...

You have no credibility yet. So don't ruin it now. If this is fake, which is very very likely, redeem yourself and say you're lying. Or you may be being lied to, because there is no way a top ten longest coaster in the world could be finished by October.
