That looks like the same wood that they are laying on the ground to lay the support pieces on.

If the rumor about a Top Thrill Dragster type ride is true, then they got rid of the 4th (a straight up and straight down launch) because they were about to get a TTD type ride, therefore; HyperSonic XLC would be pointless.

That actually makes plenty of sense. It wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

With the trouble that Cedar Fair has had with the Intimin rockets, I seriously doubt we will ever see another one built for them.

At the end of the day, Cedar Fair wants something that will give good capacity, rerides, rave reviews, and run reliably, and something they can market.

Obviously both KD's and Carowinds' attendance have proven that Cedar Fair feel they should continue building new rides.

There flagship park maybe Cedar Point, but since the Detroit and Cleveland Markets are in decline, and attendance has stayed steady (up 2% last year), I don't see them building as much as they used to

John4, the problem Kings Dominion has is that there are few unique coasters left out there that the market does not already have. Busch alone has top of the line versions of most steel models. To me it would not distinguish the park much from Busch and SFA if they only added a slightly taller hyper, dive machine or invert. Considering ispeed is only 170 ft tall, maybe it is a little less problematic, in terms of getting it to work than Dragster and it's twin in NJ. Some might argue that the park has too many launched rides as is, but they do give the park a distinctiveness.

You mean the Parking Lot Asphalt?

Yes, that will be removed and landscaped with either grass, stone or mulch... or some of each. There will most likely be a man-made hill next to the remaining parking lot as well as new curbs and a double-fence.

Shrubbery and a few small trees may be planted as well in that area as well as the main entry and station area.

Well thats good to know. I hope this will be a big ride. I can't wait till they announce the coaster. I'm excited to see them theme of the ride and how big it will be and everything.

I've seen something mentioned numerous times on various sites in the past, but have no idea if there's any truth to it or not. Supposedly Busch has an exclusivity agreement with B&M that prevents parks within a certain distance of BGE from building similar rides. The only park this actually affects is Kings Dominion. I've heard this prevents any NEW B&M from being built there, and I've heard it just prevents the same type of new B&M from being built. Dominator, being a used ride and a floorless which BGE doesn't have, wouldn't violate this agreement in either case. Again, whether any of that is true or not or just some myth that keeps going around, I have no idea.

If true, though, it would partly explain why KD would be getting what possibly could be an Intamin launch coaster. Apollo's Chariot would block them from getting a B&M hyper. Of course, they could get an Intamin hyper instead of a launcher. True, Superman isn't that far away at SFA, maybe that would be seen as too similar to market effectively.
